We have recently heard from four Global Network (GN) donors that while I was gone to Cambodia for six weeks they had donation checks returned to them by the Post Office. Likely others who we have not heard from also had their donation envelopes returned to them with a message that our PO Box 652 was no longer working.
Before I left I arranged that the Post Office would forward our mail to another GN board member here in Maine that would pay our bills until I returned.
Once I got home and discovered this problem I went directly to the Post Office. They assured me it was just a 'mistake' and that our PO Box is now working fine. We shall see if that proves to be correct.
I don't really blame the postal workers as recent presidential administrations (Republican and Democrat) have been cutting funds for the postal service. They are out to destroy it and intend to privatize it like Washington is doing with so many other national programs that the public relies on.
So if you got your recent donation to the GN returned to you please resend it.
Our PO Box 652, Brunswick, ME 04011 is working now.
Thanks to all.
Bruce
