The war will not end unless and until the US honors the MOU that Trump and the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed but the US almost immediately violated.

No serious talks are now underway between the two nations.

Iran, thru Pakistan, has told the US that they will not stop defending their national interests unless Trump agrees with the MOU.

No ceasefires are now under consideration.

Rumors abound about Iran moving toward testing a nuclear device. No one knows for sure. But Iran (which long honored that they would not build a nuclear weapon) now has lost all trust and patience with the US,. Thus some believe Iran might be coming to the conclusion that the only way they can 'safeguard' their nation is to do so at this time.

This question is all the more complicated after Trump and Saudi Arabia signed a deal yesterday where the US will assist the Saudi's in building a nuclear program. 

Note the massive hypocrisy here. Iran can't even have  a civilian nuclear program, which many nations around the world have long ago created, but the US can help Saudi Arabia build one.

How can anyone trust the USA anymore?

'Pistol Pete Hegseth' denies U.S.-Israel started war on Iran

• Iran’s Central Military Command (Khatam al-Anbiya) in reaction to Trump’s threats: “The criminal US has threatened to attack the nuclear and other sensitive facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is hereby declared that, should the aggressive and terrorist military of that country enter such a phase, we will regard it as an expansion of the war throughout the region. All interests belonging to the US, its allies, and the supporters of that rogue and hostile state will then be targeted by powerful attacks from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” 

• In a new statement, the IRGC says it struck an early-warning radar; a tactical radar complex near Ali Al Salem Air Base; and a radar system on Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island. These radar systems were destroyed and put out of operational service.
• An official told Washington Post that a ground operation is unrealistic, as Iranian “standoff strikes” would have fire-control over any US ground forces. “I think it would be a mistake to put ground forces anywhere in islands in the strait or onshore,” said Seth Jones, who heads the defense and security department at the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies, referring to the Strait of Hormuz. “I don’t think U.S. forces are prepared for standoff strikes from Iranians.” 

• Iran’s IRGC announced they destroyed multiple drones at US bases. Inside the King Faisal & Prince Hassan Air Bases, the IRGC struck:  An F-15 preparation hangar; A drone-preparation hangar with 8 brand-new MQ-9 drones still inside their packaging and not yet assembled for service were completely destroyed; 2 additional drones positioned outside the hangar sustained heavy damage; At a helicopter-maintenance hangar 2 heavy US helicopters sustained major damage; An accommodation facilities killing & injuring several. 
• Video by an American soldier with 5 minutes time to take shelter during an Iranian missile attack. 

• Meanwhile, Fox News commentator seems to be on the cusp of a groundbreaking discovery: ‘I don’t understand how it’s possible that Iran has the capabilities to fight this way and continue to lash out at Gulf countries and US military bases…Because the US has OBLITERATED Iran’s military and the President continues to reiterate that.’ They’re a couple of lines of reasoning away from finally reaching the conclusion that Trump is pathologically lying, and the entire world is suffering because of it. 

• The Israeli military is rapidly constructing a large earthen barrier in the Gaza Strip, further entrenching the division of the tiny Palestinian enclave.
• Trump meets with Lebanese western-backed corrupt President Joseph Aoun at the White House: Aoun says, 'You are a great president.' Trump replies: 'He knows how to get to me. He can have anything.'

[US is trying to move its planes farther away from West Asian bases that lately have been pounded by Iran missile and drone strikes. If Bulgaria, a NATO member, accepts this role then NATO will become increasingly complicit in the war on Iran, Lebanon and Palestine. This has been a Trump goal since the start of this war.]  

• Pete Hegseth: 'Iran has been given every opportunity to negotiate, to show that they’re reasonable on the Strait of Hormuz. But if they’re going to target commercial shipping, then we’re going to hit them, as the President has said, ten times harder.' 

• According to a Reuters report, the Yemeni naval blockade is forcing Saudi oil tankers to turn back from the Red Sea. Two tankers carrying Saudi oil, one bound for China and the other for India, changed course and headed toward the Suez Canal after the Houthis warned ships against loading or unloading at Saudi ports. A third tanker turned back before even reaching Yanbu to load. The rerouting of shipments through the Suez Canal adds weeks and costs to their arrival times in Asia. Saudi crude oil exports have reached their lowest levels since the imposition of the Yemeni blockade.
• The IRS will take a cut of Spain's $51,000,000 FIFA World Cup prize money. Since the tournament was hosted on US soil, FIFA prize money, bonuses, and appearance fees earned during the tournament fall under US federal income tax hitting players, coaches, staff, and even referees. Tax experts estimate Spain could lose close to half the payout to Washington.
• Thousands of farmers opposing a proposed trade deal with the US marched toward Delhi on Tuesday, presenting another challenge to the government of Indian Prime Minister Modi, already facing a student protest in the capital. The farmers’ unions say New Delhi’s proposed trade deal could hurt India’s agriculture sector by opening the door to cheaper American food and hurt domestic farmers, livestock and dairy producers, as well as small traders. 

• NATO troops in Ukraine are absolutely unacceptable states Kremlin: “It has been stated repeatedly, including at the highest level, that there are specific plans to deploy foreign contingents, including troops from NATO countries, on Ukrainian territory. These plans are reportedly ready and, moreover, are intended to become part of the security guarantees for Ukraine. For us, this is absolutely unacceptable,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. Russia considers that it cannot permit the deployment of EU or NATO troops in Ukraine, he added.
• Patrick Lawrence writes: Based on National Security Presidential Memorandum–7 of September 2025, Trump declared a government offensive against “domestic terrorism” of the “Left-Wing” kind. This latest declaration of war is intended to “identify, disrupt, defund, debank, arrest, and prosecute these political terrorists operating in our country,” said Stephen Miller, Trump’s domestic policy adviser. So we can add “dangerous” to our descriptives. If the going gets as heavy as Cointelpro was at its worst, this new iteration could so prove. Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of this formal declaration of authoritarianism. On the nitty side, it is plain from the White House document and Rubio’s presentation of it that the Trump regime is in the grip of a creeping desperation. The victories of social democrats of various stripes in recent elections have Trump calling them all “Communists.” Beyond this, it is evident that American public opinion is tilting, measurably now, leftward toward populism. Anxiety in the upper reaches of power tips into fear. As to the gritty, this latest aggression against all of us, no exceptions, is simply too stupid to work. As an attempt at apple-pie fascism it is likely to make a mess, depending on how vigorously the regime presses its case, but the net of it will be the further alienation of power from people. 

• History lesson how war began in 2014: After the Obama-Biden orchestrated coup d'état in Kiev, the US-NATO armed, trained and directed Nazis from western Ukraine began attacking citizens in the Russian-ethnic region of the Donbass in eastern Ukraine right along the Russian border. One of the very first places they hit and captured was Mariupol. This video shows them driving over make-shift barricades erected by the people of Mariupol. Mariupol was taken back under Russian control in May 2022. The fall of Mariupol marked a strategic victory for Russia in the region. 

• Ukrainian dictator Zelensky named Mikhail Drapaty as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Drapaty is on Russia’s wanted list. According to Russian investigators, he commanded Ukrainian forces operating against the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics from 2017 to 2019. Moscow alleges that units under his command shelled dozens of Russian-ethnic settlements in Donbass more than 70 times, killing and injuring more than 150 civilians. 

• Sovereignista: Oh Mama Mia. Trump wants to see FIFA President Gianni Infantino as the new UN Secretary-General, according to the New York Post. Trump believes that Infantino is respected around the world and has the ability to bring people together. The UN has discredited itself to such an extent that even if Trump’s psychiatrist is nominated, it would come as no surprise. This election for a new UN Secretary General will take place this year. We don’t have a date yet and the process of election is almost like that of a Pope. Straw poles (secret ballots) are held by the Security Council continually, until they agree. We just don’t see black smoke or white smoke.

Trump calls U.S. troop losses in Iran war 'sad'

• An Iranian official: 'To the parents of American soldiers, remove your sons from the Persian Gulf region.'
• Washington Post: Nearly 100 US troops injured in last two weeks of Iran war, Pentagon says. The disclosure underscored the significance of Tehran’s strikes on US military installations across West Asia since negotiations to end the conflict collapsed. At least 18 service members have been killed during the war. Trump remains undeterred by the losses of his own troops, describing the occasion simply as “sad”. Trump is now trapped in a classic zugzwang of his own making, and must continue bombing aimlessly to preserve his own narcissistic self-image, as being defeated by Iran would crush his ego.

• As the war escalated, Washington pulled forces out of Bahrain, the UAE, and Qatar, more exposed and more politically fragile, and concentrated them in Jordan. With other Gulf allies restricting US basing and overflight rights, Jordan thus became the main platform for American air operations across the wider region.
• Washington Post quoting a US official: 'We don’t have enough defensive/offensive munitions (air defenses) due to low supply and damage to safely sustain operations.' The Pentagon, sinking billions into Iran war, quickly runs short on cash. With some funds set to dry up in weeks, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is set to urge lawmakers today to approve another $67 billion to address the shortfall.

• One of the biggest stories around Iranian attacks is the claim from US officials that Russia and China have been the key playmakers providing Iran with high quality targeting to hit these sensitive sites, with some claiming that Russia has continued flying major supplies into Iran in recent weeks. [When China/Russia supply satellite targeting to Iran it is bad according to the Pentagon. When the US does the same for Ukraine to hit deep into Russia the Pentagon is happy.]
• The Yemeni Armed Forces officially imposed a navy blockade on Saudi Arabia. It all started because they broke the ceasefire by bombing Sana’a airport to prevent an Iranian civilian airplane to land. Saudi's can now neither export via Strait of Hormoz nor from the Bad el Mandab.

• As Andy Burnham takes over as UK Prime Minister, CND (Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament) has written to him urging him to take a new direction to the disastrous path of Starmer. 'As well as reversing the decision to purchase nuclear-capable fighter jets and redirect military spending into boosting public services, we are calling on him to end British support for Trump’s deadly wars. Following a collapse of the ceasefire, the US-led illegal war on Iran is now escalating to all-out confrontation once again. We’re calling on Burnham to push for a diplomatic solution to the crisis and ensure Britain gives no support for another illegal war.'

• Time.com: Carson Carpenter, of Prescott, Ariz., co-founder of Off The Record USA, a media company that oversees young conservative content creators, opposes the Iran war, arguing that it evokes the legacy of post 9/11 conflicts, which cost more than 7,000 American lives, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi and Afghan lives, and trillions of dollars. James Cox, 20-year-old college student from American University in Washington D.C., and the Chief of Staff of D.C. College Republicans, estimated that about half of his peers would disagree with how Trump has handled the conflict. “It's quite the spectrum of different beliefs, and I think it's captured the party...you have the non-interventionists, the isolationists who are against this conflict, and then you've got the folks who are unsure and the folks who are in support of it,” Cox said. The latest Economist/YouGov poll shows only 28% of Americans approve of Trump's handling of the Iran conflict, a five-point drop from the same question two weeks ago. Among people aged from 18 to 29, 63% of them oppose the war.
• Middle East Eye: The escalating conflict between the US and Iran is taking a growing toll on civilian infrastructure, with Iranian officials saying US strikes destroyed a desalination facility supplying drinking water to about 10,000 people. Hamzeh Pour, chief executive of the Hormozgan Water and Wastewater Company, said US strikes hit desalination pumps and electrical infrastructure in Bunji village, in Jask, cutting off water supplies to 20 villages. Iran’s energy minister reports repairs to the desalination plant in Jask were immediately made and water service has returned to normal less than 48 hours after the facility was damaged in a US missile strike.

Spain, the European country most behind Palestine, won. •  Fars News Agency: The US attacked the Darkhovein civilian nuclear power plant site, in Khuzestan, Iran. The US fired several missiles hitting the site of the power plant, now under construction with assistance from Russia.

• King Hussein Intl Airport in Jordan’s Aqaba has been turned into a US military air base. The airport is currently hosting many US military aircrafts such as US Navy P-8 Poseidons, USAF C-17 and C-130 transport aircrafts, as seen in satellite images days ago.
• The German parliament is pressing for more radical legal changes: a bill criminalizing speech that denies Israel’s right to exist and punishing offenders with fines or up to five years in prison. If passed, Germany would be the first European nation to legislate on this specific type of free speech.

• Third Reich descendant Friedrich Merz admitted Germany's dependence on Russian gas. The German Chancellor stated this in an interview with the ZDF television channel. According to him, the cessation of Russian gas supplies became one of the reasons for the prolonged energy crisis in the country. Manufacturing has been hit particularly hard, especially the automotive sector. BASF, Bosch, Volkswagen, and more than a dozen other German manufacturers have closed factories since 2022. In June, Volkswagen, the country’s largest automaker, announced four plant closures and up to 100,000 job cuts. Meanwhile, UK newspaper The Times alleges that options for restoring communication channels with Moscow are being discussed in Berlin.

My friend Mimmo in Italy set me this video.

He wrote, 'Recently in Italy, there have been demonstrations against the presence of Ambassador Fertitta's mega yacht in Venice.'   

The yacht cost $450 million (£341.6 million) and boasts six floors, two helipads and multiple swimming pools. 

Clearly a statement by a Texas cowboy about the size of his ego and something else....

People during the video march, are confronted by police, they hear speeches and project their outrage at the US.

One speaker called the visit of the rich American ambassador's yacht the 'Concentration of arrogance, wealth and power'. 

One of my favorite signs in the protest reads 'MAGA - Make America Go Away'.

Being an ambassador is actually a tax-payer funded holiday in an 'exotic' location for the time in office of the president.

Nothing more.

An emotionally charged, high-stakes environmental crisis unfolded in Western Friuli, Italy on July 13, 2026. It culminated in a volatile public meeting in Porcia, Italy, a town located about 7 km from the fire training area at the U.S. Aviano Air Base. Porcia is 90 km north-northeast of Venice.

The emergency assembly drew over 300 deeply concerned and angry residents.

The public outcry was triggered by severe PFAS contamination suddenly reported in local groundwater. The crowd was furious over delays in transparency, and people demanded immediate accountability. PFAS stands for per-and poly fluoroalkyl substances. There are 40,000  different varieties of PFAS. PFOS and PFOA are types of PFAS. They all move around and injure us in different ways. 

It caused a firestorm. In immediate response to the findings of poisoned water, the mayors of four neighboring municipalities—Porcia, Aviano, Fontanafredda, and Roveredo in Piano—issued joint emergency ordinances. These orders imposed a  ban on water extraction from all private artesian wells within the designated "red zone" perimeter. The ban strictly prohibits utilizing well water for human consumption, vegetable gardens, and animal watering.

‍At. U.S. bases around the world, airmen dug craters and regularly filled them with hundreds of gallons of jet fuel and other hazardous substances. They ignited the fuel, creating a massive fireball that airmen would extinguish using the cancer-causing foams. The training went on either bi-weekly or monthly from the early 1970’s. The consequences are apocalyptic.

U.S. losing troops, fighter jets, choppers and MQ drones to Iran

• A 3rd MQ-9 drone that Iran shot down, in Dehloran, Ilam province. Within the last 48 hours, three MQ-9 drones have been shot down in Asaluyeh, Ahvaz, and Dehloran. Two were shot down on July 18th, and one on July 17th. 

• Iranian MP, Ali Reza Salimi: If Iran can’t export oil and petroleum derivatives, then the other countries in the region will not be able to do so either. Either the Strait of Hormuz is safe for everyone, or it is safe for no one. Trump's 'Department of Endless War' is still claiming that only 18 US troops have been killed since US-Israel launched these attacks on Iran, with over 400 wounded. Now how can that be? Why are the corporate media keeping the lid on this important story?] 

• An official at the American oil company HKN: The company has decided to halt all its operations in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region due to the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran.
• A senior US official speaking to Wall Street Journal on the condition on anonymity, revealed that Iranian strikes on Jordan destroyed an F-15 Strike Eagle and damaged several other fighter jets and unmanned aircraft.

• Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam: Trump has already destroyed two major achievements in the history of contemporary diplomacy and is still talking about peace. Trump blew up the Iranian nuclear deal in 2018 and has now already blown up the Islamabad memorandum of understanding in less than 20 days since its signing.      

• According to The New York Times, citing US officials, Iranian missile strikes damaged a significant number of US Black Hawk helicopters stationed at US military bases in eastern Jordan. 

• The US struck the entrance & exit of the Shahid Mirzaei Tunnel, which is located on the important route in southern Iran. [Some experts are suggesting that the US is hitting bridges near Hormuz and various Iranian islands in the waterway in preparation for a US and Gulf monarch allies land invasion. By taking out bridges it would be more difficult for Iranian forces to rush troops to these locations.] 

• Sources in Gaza hospitals: 8 martyrs, including 3 children, in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City since dawn yesterday.
• The House of Representatives on Wednesday rejected an amendment by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) that would have cut $3.3 billion in military aid to Israel, with the measure failing 314-104. Massie was the only Republican to vote yes, joined by 103 Democrats, while 98 Democrats voted against the cut and 10 voted present. The same day, 50 Republican senators voted to advance an NDAA provision that would integrate US and Israeli military intelligence, weapons development, and cybersecurity operations, falling short of the 60 votes needed to proceed. 

• RT: Israel has reportedly reclassified Nile crocodiles as “tended” animals, potentially clearing the way for their use as part of prison security. The controversial proposal to surround prisons with crocodile-filled moats was reportedly floated by far-right National Security Minister Ben-Gvir, who argued the reptiles would strengthen security and deter escape attempts. According to Israeli media reports, Ben-Gvir wants to first introduce the reptiles to Ketziot Prison, a penitentiary in southern Israel that holds primarily Palestinian prisoners. 

• Kiev: Protests supporting former Ukrainian Defence Minister Mikhail Fedorov and against the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Srysky continue. Fevorov has become popular with the people as he 'seemingly' tried to reform Ukrainian corruption in the military where billions have been stolen by Zelensky and his pirate crew.  Fedorov, 35, was Ukraine’s youngest-ever defense minister and only assumed the role in January. He deepened Ukraine’s ties with Palantir, a controversial US data-mining and military technology company, but failed to reform his corruption-prone ministry in accordance with 'NATO standards,' as Fedorov himself admitted while confirming his departure.     

• Ukraine has deployed military personnel to several African countries in an attempt to open a “second front” against Russia, Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko has said. In an interview with TASS the Russian diplomat named Mali, Libya, and Sudan as countries where Ukrainian personnel have supported armed terrorists that are backed by France and the US. Russia has sent troops to support the Africans.

• Lvov, Bandera heartlands: The military body snatchers found a new method to “encourage” an unwilling “Ukrainian patriot” to die for Zelensky. Throw him to the ground and kick him. With such “freedom” and “democracy” what more is needed?

• Trump’s social network Truth Social will start selling investors early access to posts from prominent accounts, most likely including his own, the holding company has announced. Critics argue that the move could create an unprecedented new way for the president to profit from his office, given his family controls Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the platform’s publicly traded corporate parent. The move was announced on Thursday, when TMTG unveiled Truth API, a business-to-business data feed providing “real-time access to posts from the highest-ranking Truth Social accounts.”
• CNN: The US may pave the way for Saudi Arabia to acquire nuclear weapons. The Trump administration has given Saudi Arabia preliminary approval to enrich uranium, but without the strict international restrictions that typically prevent countries from acquiring nuclear weapons. This refers to the so-called “123 Agreement,” which has not even reached the US Congress for consideration yet. [Now ain't this total hypocrisy.]
• Argentine attacks President (Javier Milei) because of Israel: "Do not believe our damned president who was inaugurated with Israeli money and there is no real Argentine who supports them. Long live free Palestine; we must unite against this scoundrel!"

Outraged Mainers march thru Portland opposing ICE killings

MB and I went to an anti-ICE demonstration in Portland, Maine today attended by over 500 people. As we arrived the Ideal Band was warming up the crowd and then a series of excellent speakers addressed the people about the murder of a young Colombian father Johan Guerrero by a masked ICE operative in front of Johan's three year old daughter in Biddeford, Maine just days ago.

Since this murder Maine has been flooded with major protests up and down the state. (It's important to know that Maine's entire population is only 1.4 million so turnouts like this today are big for our state.) There was a similar large protest in Bangor a couple hours drive north. And there were smaller events held in many towns as well across Maine.

On the very same day as this rally and march happened on the streets of Portland, Democrats in every county of the state were meeting to select delegates to attend a statewide convention in Bangor on July 25 to pick who will be the party candidate against incumbent right-wing Senator Susan Collins who has repeatedly voted to fund ICE in the Congress. 

The very popular Democrat Graham Platner (who won the statewide primary election with 72% of the vote) recently dropped out of the race after rape charges were alleged against him.

Many of the chants, as we marched thru the tourist district of the Old Port of Portland, were opposing the re-election of Republican Susan Collins next November.

Even though the rally and march were held in the rain the largely younger crowd remained steady. Many tourists and local shop workers popped their heads outside waving at us and taking photos as we marched.

In this part of Portland there are many restaurants and bars so I walked along the sidewalk with my sign so I could hold it up to the windows enabling the diners and those inside the bars could see my message. Lots of them waved, clapped and gave peace signs of approval.

The entire event lasted about 2 1/2 hours. On our way back to our car it was fun to see how many local businesses in the city had put 'No Ice' flyers on their doors.

We had so much fun today being there. It's about a 45 minute ride to Portland from our home but well worth it. Even though much of it was in the rain we were so encouraged by the many young activists who organized and participated in this well-run protest event that was sponsored by several key socialist organizations.  

People across Maine are so over Trump and his fascist pirate band of thieves and war mongers. We are tired of the war$ (US-NATO proxy war on Russia, Palestine, Lebanon and Iran) and the regime changes (Venezuela) and the threats to other nations (Cuba and Greenland).

Several speakers in the rally made the important point that this energy must be sustained as we face this expanding fascism. One hit demos won't do the trick. 

We have to build a movement across the nation to take power away from these genocidal Epstein class pedophiles who have long ago lost their souls.

Next Monthly peace vigil in Bangor July 25

As we move closer to the November mid-term congressional elections it makes sense that our movements for peace, justice and environmental sanity escalate our current level of activity.

Lots of people who aspire to higher office (on behalf of the public and our Constitutional rights to free speech, freedom to assemble and a free press) will be taking the temperature of the great unwashed. Thus it's the perfect time to raise our voices.

We must loudly proclaim our collective demands and only stop in order to take a breath before demanding them again.

War heats up as Trump targets civilian sites

• The US has begun its desperate escalation attacks on mostly civilian targets inside Iran. A total of 5-6 bridges in Hormozgan province were targeted; The Griveh bridge, connecting Bandar Abbas, Khmeir, and Lar; The bridge after the village of Latidan (Kalmatli), on the return route from Bandar Abbas, Khmeir, and Lar.; 2 bridges on the route to Kahorstan, Lar; The unfinished bridge, connecting Bandar Khmeir, Keshvar, and Bandar Abbas; The bridge in the village of Maro, in the Khmeir county; Chabahar maritime tower was targeted (again) and destroyed by the US; A railway station, west of Bandar Abbas; Civilian airport in Iranshahr, southeastern Iran.

• The US refueling tankers and other support aircraft are now unable to land in Qatar's Al Udeid and Jordan's Mwafaq al-Salti due to the Iranian ballistic missile strikes.
• Footage shows how the US Patriot system failed to intercept the Iranian missiles, which caused them to strike intended targets inside King Faisal AB in Jordan, hitting US forces accommodation places. [Notice when the Patriot interceptors fail they fall back to the ground and hit other facilities on/near the US military base.] 

• The IRGC launched a heavy and surprising attack on the US Al-Udeid Air Base, in Qatar. As a result, one long-range radar system and several US strategic refueling aircrafts were completely destroyed, while several others sustained significant damage.
• Iranian missiles/drones struck: A US oilfield service company, Halliburton, logistics warehouse in Kuwait’s Mina Abdullah industrial zone was completely destroyed. A munitions storage warehouse complex at the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar was also hit.
• Sputnik: Iran is freely targeting US barracks, logistics bases and Air Force facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain using Arash heavy drones. Lack of effective resistance on the US’ part signals that whatever efforts the Pentagon took to restore regional capabilities (like transferring THAAD from South Korea) proved insufficient. Relentless Iranian attacks on US-operated bases in the region generally complicate US operations against Iran that rely on them, and force the US to expend significant forces and resources to protect them. Some of the bases nearest to Iran are now causing more problems for the US than they're worth. For example, Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar was the largest US airbase in the region, but now the US has been forced to evacuate most of its aircraft because it's too dangerous to keep them there.

• Fishermen fished out an intercepted LUCAS drone, a US-copy of the Iranian Shahed-136 drone. 

• Brent prices jump 2 percent to more than $85 per barrel amid continued US-Iran escalation.
• Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps: Full control of the Strait of Hormuz remains in the hands of our fighters, and as long as the US attacks continue, not a drop of oil or gas will be exported from this region.
• Iran targeted the King Fahd Causeway linking Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. This is in retaliation for US hitting numerous Iranian bridges that lead to its oil producing/storage islands.

• The UK has made it illegal with prison up to 14 years if you support the official military body of Iran. But you’re still free to support the broadly recognised genocidal army responsible for generation killing, the IDF.
• One clown replaces another: Andy Burnham has been announced as the new leader of the Labour Party and will take office as Prime Minister of the UK on Monday, July 20.
• The Israeli Knesset has voted to dissolve parliament overnight, sending Israel into early elections amid deepening internal political divisions and growing pressure on Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government. The move ends the current parliamentary term and sets the stage for elections scheduled for October 27, with Netanyahu facing mounting scrutiny over his government’s handling of the war on Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, as well as his long-running corruption trials.

• El Mayadeen English: Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim: “If we find any Israeli national, we will deport them immediately because we do not recognise Israel.”
• BBC’s Vitali Shevchenko: Explains how “Ukrainian patriotism” is nothing but a myth. The problem is that Ukrainians do not want to die in the war.  

• Forum Geopolitica by Peter Hanseler: The NATO summit sent a message that no one wants to hear. Europe is openly declaring war on Russia – and it’s doing so with Trump’s full support. Almost all of the weapons used by Ukraine in this war are supplied by Europe and the US. However, many of them cannot be deployed without NATO personnel in Ukraine or at one of NATO’s bases, and cannot find their targets in Russia without satellite support from the US. It is therefore misleading to speak of a conflict between Ukraine and Russia here: Europe, with the active support of the US, is waging war against Russia. While this took place covertly until recently, the aggressors are now proudly flaunting their direct involvement. Russia “will no longer believe the West that it wants negotiated solutions” because “this reserve of goodwill and hope has been exhausted entirely”, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, 9th July, 2026.  

• Trump stated that a number of countries allegedly have the ability to interfere with the American electoral system. Among the "adversaries of the US," he named Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, as well as stated risks to election infrastructure. [He is preparing to create the fear and 'justification' to toy with the election computers in the coming November national congressional elections because he fears the Republicans will be thrown out of power. He has no respect for 'democracy'.] China stated “China has never interfered and will never interfere in the elections in the US,” via embassy spokesman. Russia as well denied any interference as did Iran. Note in this video Trump says these nations have the 'capability'.  Word games. 

• Reuters: Pakistan is in negotiations with Kuwait regarding a broad defense agreement in exchange for cooperation in the fields of energy and investment. Any defense agreement with Kuwait, which has been subjected to attacks from Iran this year, would raise questions about Pakistan's role in future mediation between the US and Iran. Many of the US attacks on Iran come from its bases in Kuwait.
