The collapsing US military & economic empire is making Washington & NATO even more dangerous. US could not beat the Taliban but thinks it can take on China-Russia-Iran...a sign of psychopathology for sure. We must all do more to help stop this western corporate arrogance that puts the future generations lives in despair. @BruceKGagnon

Linking the issues in Albuquerque

Ground-based laser at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico. US is helping Israel develop the technology.

By Bob Anderson

I did a talk last Friday to link the war industry here to the genocide in Gaza, but I presented  it as one part of a larger global imperial strategy and task for us, ie Ukraine.

I found some information about the general scope of what is going on in the space war machine structure building as it is developing here.  It is immense and they are pushing fast to incorporate all the civilian satellite and other technologies into the space conflict planning.

The conference they had here earlier this month was all about pulling in commercial resources to solve their technical problems.  It was disgusting, the groveling about contract money for this and that by all the contractors.  War profiteers.  There is a push here for a Space Valley of space war research and development.  In doing some research from the conference I came upon the university’s link into the AFRL [Air Force Research Lab at Kirtland] and it is big - directed energy weapons and space war planning.  Trying to get the divestment group focused on this rather than university investments.  The university has a huge building complex down by the base I had not realized until this latest phase, it has been kept low key.

And the mayor and city held a Space Fiesta for contractors too, trying to sell the militarization of space as a fun fiesta.  I did not find out about it till the morning of the event downtown.  They kept it a secret apparently from the public, announcing it in the newspaper that morning in an article.  It was supposed to be for the public but war companies had to pay up to $20k to set up a table booth.  They closed it to the public quickly.  There is a push here to make this state of NM a big part of space militarization, and profiteering tied to the needs of the AFRL, they were the main presenters at all the events.  This whole area is being developed into the infrastructure that goes into the intelligence, recon and targeting and training for the massacre in Palestine, on top of all the other R&D that goes on here with nuclear weapons.  It is like wrestling with an octopus with teeth here if one is aware of it.  The whole Democratic Party is solidly behind it.

Did I ever tell you I was in Gaza in the 1988 Intifada?  I was in Al Shifa hospital, gone now, and some of the homes that were flattened by the 2,000 lb US bombs in Jabalya, guided by Boeing JDAM units.  We did a protest here at the local Boeing facility early on.

Thanks for keeping the network going…

What Mr. Big doesn't want you to see....

Television Event is an archive-based feature documentary that views the dramatic climax of the Cold War through the lens of a commercial television network, as it narrowly succeeds in producing the most watched, most controversial made-for-TV movie, The Day After (1983).

With irreverent humor and sobering apocalyptic vision, this film reveals how a commercial broadcaster seized a moment of unprecedented television viewership, made an emotional connection with an audience of over 100 million, and forced an urgent conversation with the US President on how to collectively confront and resolve the most pressing issue of the time — nuclear proliferation.

NATO pushes war in the Nordic region

What does the change in the security landscape in the Nordics with NATO expansions, increased military activities, and the establishment of more American military bases in Nordic countries mean?

This film will highlight some security policy issues in Norway's neighboring areas in the Nordics and the Arctic in light of these new developments.

We will take a closer look at activities and consequences related to the risk of war, increased tension, and the danger of nuclear weapons.

The film is published by "Stop NATO" with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via the Norwegian Peace Council

NO RADAR meeting “Standing room only” as campaign to stop DARC steps up a gear

Challenge set for General Election Candidates to declare their position on DARC

A public meeting held at Solva Memorial Hall [in Pembrokeshire, Wales] was ‘packed to the rafters’ campaigners report, as hundreds flooded the venue last night to hear about the dangers of DARC

Following last month’s digital launch of the campaign last PARC Against DARC which has set up aiming to stop the UK/US Military’s plans to create a 27 dish ‘Deep Space Advanced Radar Concept’ - ‘DARC’ high-power radar station at Cawdor Barracks in Brawdy, a further public meeting was held in Solva Memorial Hall on Thursday June 27, which organisers say was ‘ram-packed’ with concerned residents who are gearing up to stop the Radar..

Several speakers took to the stage and spoke to many of the key arguments laid out on the groups Campaign website which states that after fighting off a similar campaign in the 90’s which led to then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher being forced to announce cancellation of the project; “we are back, with a new generation, a new purpose, and a fight we are ready to win!”.

The meeting began with a screening of a new ‘Movie Trailer’ style campaign video as a call to action which is available on the PARC Youtube channel.

Race to the bottom for local leisure and tourism.

Emma Bowen, General Manager of the Retreats Group of local hotels spoke about the impact the Radar would have on tourism saying:

"As an accommodation provider set in the UK’s only truly coastal national park, we are totally reliant on leisure tourists who come to enjoy the coast path, beaches, history and culture. If you were looking for a holiday location, would you choose somewhere next to 27 enormous radar structures? If DARC were to go ahead, it would negatively impact our business putting 75 jobs at risk, not to mention the secondary effect on over 40 plus suppliers and contractors."

Iron Dome Radars of the same type as DARC found to cause cancer

Two short films were screened which had been created by leading scientists in the field of non-ionising radiation. One outlined a study by Dr M. Peleg which had been conducted using research from cases of the Iron Dome in Israel and where the evidence showed that instances of cancer had doubled where soldiers had been posted to work in close proximity to the radars and which in a number of cases ended in fatalities.

The presentation explained that The Iron Dome produces the same kind of radiation, non-ionising radio-frequency radiation that the DARC radar array would produce, and has been found to quite aggressively produce cancer.

Six of the very young, 24 year-old military personnel working near these radar transmitters in a small unit in Israel were diagnosed with hemolymphatic cancers, at eight times the rate expected of their age group, with five other studies showing very similar results.

The author’s suggestions for some of the ways to mitigate such risks with powerful radar would either be by placing large valleys between the population and the radars—which is not possible because the Brawdy site is on the tallest hill in the area—or by implementing a very large exclusion zone. That means, in other words, that the population would, according to the suggestion by this specialist in radiation safety, indeed have to be evacuated from the area in very large numbers in order to guarantee their safety.

‘A chilling quote from one of the Israeli soldiers described how this felt in the field, saying: “When you're near a radar you're literally feeling your body boiling from the inside out… if you try to imagine what happens to food when it is in the microwave, it is like that. You feel the heat coming in waves.’ We now know that as a result of this, Israeli soldiers have come to nickname the Iron Dome ‘the toaster.”

A campaign with a history!

Roy Jones who headed up a similar campaign in the 90’s spoke about the history of the campaign saying: Began by giving a summary of the DARC project, highlighting that it was part of AUKUS the three-way security pact between the US, UK and Australia and that ultimately the true intention was for the US to militarily be able to dominate all of space, as a targeting devise DARC would enable satellites to be destroyed by missiles fired by planes from high altitudes.

Drawing attention to the proposed positioning of the Radars and the elevated nature of the proposed site he explained: “this means that the massive brightly coloured array would be visible from many vantage points in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. A giant radar farm capable of scanning a third of every square millimetre of space around the Earth would make it the highest risk radio-frequency radiation project ever to be sited on British soil.”

Adding: “The MOD funded scoping report, published on the Pembrokeshire County Council website reveals dangers during the construction phase. It notes the presence of buried unexploded ordnance, radioactive materials such as uranium and Strontium 90 and extensive asbestos contamination which the report warns has the potential to migrate into building foundations and leech into the groundwater and from there into Brandy Brook and the Solva River. The report also estimates that building the antenna foundations would lead to 100 lorries a day driving through Newgale beach, 200 if you include the return trip. The 100 jobs promised by the MOD would actually mean a net loss of 300 jobs if you factor in the scheduled departure of the British Army from Brawdy in 2028.”

Roy went on to describe the great history of the previously victorious campaign which included big rallies, fundraisers, public meetings and a massive community effort to halt the radar and which garnered support from organisations and politicians in Pembrokeshire, Cymru, Westminster and internationally, ultimately snowballing to such a level that it lead to the cancellation of the project.

Concluding: “We started small but we grew and grew until we reached across the Atlantic. We can do the same thing again. The key is unity. If we all work together and unite as a community we are a force to be reckoned with! Have a look at our website, - all the information you need is there. Lobby local councillors, write to MPs, if you have connections into the US Congress use them. If we work together we are unstoppable!”

Cymru a nation of peace

CND Cymru’s Secretary Dylan Lewis-Rowlands highlighted the dangers of military escalation from the US saying: “CND Cymru is proud to support the PARC against DARC campaign. We have always opposed the militarisation of space, and the further militarisation of Cymru. The DARC initiative - part of the nuclear AUKUS alliance - is another step in this militarisation. This grassroots campaign we are supporting is all about putting the needs of our communities in Pembrokeshire and Wales before the interests of the US’s military ambitions. Together, our voices can unite with those in the US and Australia, and others across the UK to demonstrate the need for peace, not further militarisation and war.”

Bad for our birds and wildlife

Michial Davies of The South & West Wales Wildlife trust outlined the impacts the Radar installation would have on Manx Shearwaters and other wildlife telling the audience: “Lights and Manx shearwaters don't mix. Brawdy is in sight from Skomer, the most important site in the world for this iconic seabird, Pembrokeshire's "albatross". Already, significant numbers of fledging birds, starting their migration to South America, fly inland, towards our lights. Darc will only make this worse causing more avoidable deaths.”

“Not in Pembrokeshire, not anywhere!” says campaigner

Local campaigner Jim Scott rounded up the speeches on behalf of PARC and encouraged everyone in attendance to get involved with the fight back. Pointing out that this is in no way a ‘done deal’. “The MOD are making out as if this will just need to pass through some parish council one afternoon and that then they can get on with building this carcinogenic, military monstrosity, but that is ludicrous! We know it would require specialist planning permission and there is no way on earth that we will allow our elected County Councillors in County Hall to let this get through.  We will campaign on every level to stop this and I urge everyone here to start immediately after this meeting by emailing the General Election Candidates, adding that Pembrokeshire voters have a right to know what they are voting for and the Tories and Labour have been completely silent on the matter so far.

Concluding, “Every single elected representative we have needs to be emailed. The link is on our lobbying page!”

Before breaking for an interval the group took the opportunity to replicate what they described as an iconic photograph from the previous campaign’s first public meeting where the audience all held up NO RADAR placards.

The second half of the meeting was dedicated to all in attendance raising their concerns and discussing how the community could get involved with the Campaign to stop DARC.

Challenge set for General Election Candidates

In a post on their Social Media pages PARC Against DARC have also issued a challenge to all of the prospective Parliamentary candidates standing for election in both the Pembrokeshire constituencies. Themed: “Pembrokeshire Voters have a right to know”, the challenge asks the candidates: “Where do you stand on DARC Radar at Brawdy?” The post lists all of the email addresses of the combined 15 candidates.

So far, PARC tells us, only the Green and Plaid Cymru candidates have responded positively, with Cris Tomos, the Plaid Cymru candidate for Mid & South Pembrokeshire stating that he’d help to build the case for a High Court hearing against DARC Radar at Brawdy, with Ben Lake the incumbent Ceredigion Preseli MP for Plaid Cymru offering full support. When pressed by PARC the Lib Dems locally and nationally have not yet been forthcoming with a position. Both the Wales Green Party and Plaid Cymru have publicly spoken out against DARC.

Lobby the Candidates before polling day says campaign.

In the final week of the General Election Campaign PARC are urging all concerned voters and Pembrokeshire residents to email the candidates in both affected constituencies to insist that they declare a position on DARC before polling day, arguing that the Parties and the Candidates in particular are ‘publicly accountable’ and have an ethical obligation disclose to their future constituents exactly where they stand on such an important and potentially devastating local issue; “Before rather than after polling day!” Adding that the Labour Party have been “almost completely silent” on the issue despite reports filtering back to PARC that inside the Local Labour party activists and EC members have allegedly been heard to say that they are dead against the development. No response whatsoever has been received by PARC from the Conservatives.

Dems use debate to move Biden out

Biden May Decline Democratic Nomination If He Does Poorly in Upcoming Debate - Hersh

June 21, 2024

Democrats are discussing plans to have President Joe Biden decline the Democratic presidential nomination if he has a bad showing at the upcoming presidential debate on June 27, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh reported on Friday, citing a longtime friend of the US president.

Hersh reported that there is a serious concern among the Democratic Party leadership and major Democratic donors about Biden’s ability to defeat former President Donald Trump in the November election.

"One extreme possibility in the case of a very bad showing Thursday night, I have been told, is to obtain agreement from Biden and his family advisers for the president to come to the Democratic convention in Chicago in August and accept the accolades of a first-round delegate victory; then he would decline the nomination and throw the nominating process open to all," Hersh said.

California Governor Gavin Newsom and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker could be favorites to replace Biden, Hersh said.

Next week, Biden is going to need to match the intensity he demonstrated at his State of the Union address in March if he wants to stay in the race, Hersh said.

An aggregation of national polls by RealClearPolitics shows that Trump holds a half-a-point lead over Biden and leads him in all seven swing US states.

There is no way in hell that Biden can carry on a national campaign for prez. I've been saying for months that the Dems will drop-kick him just before or during the August convention. So Hersh above (right on schedule) pulls the switch.

The Dems understood even before their primary season began that they had to pull a rabbit out of the hat. But they pretended that all was fine because they wanted to keep the Ukraine war going strong and they knew that Israel planned to make their big move on Gaza and Lebanon. Thus the corporate controlled Dems played like things were cool with Biden until now because they understood that the zionists in the administration would have a free-hand to do as they wished.

So their party will have no true democratic process to pick its candidate for prez and VP. It will all be controlled by AIPAC, Wall Street and the MIC.

Welcome to crashing America!

Iraqi Resistance: Israel-U.S. interests will be hit if zionists attack Lebanon

The secretary general of Iraq’s Asaib Ahl al-Haq resistance group, Qais al-Khazali

In the midst of an all-out war between Hezbollah and Israel, the Iraqi resistance groups declared their full support for the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon.

Qais al-Khazali, the secretary general of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq resistance group, warned Israel against starting a new war against Lebanon. Al-Khazali threatened that in the event of an all-out war, the strategic interests of Israel’s main ally, the United States of America, will be targeted in West Asia.

Abul Ala al-Walai, the secretary general of Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada (KSS) resistance group, also warned Israel by publishing a message on the X social network (formerly Twitter) about the start of any new war. Al-Walai stated that in the event of a war in Lebanon, Iraq’s Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada will use all kinds of military weapons in its arsenal and will attack targets in Israel with high precision.

According to Iraqi sources, groups of Kata’ib Hezbollah (KH) and Al-Nujaba Movement have also announced their readiness to fight alongside Hezbollah Movement.

Tensions between Lebanon’s Hezbollah and the Israeli regime have increased in recent weeks, and the region has turned into a powder keg.

Amos Hochstein, the United States’ special envoy visit to Lebanon has had the wrong result. After Hockstein’s meeting with Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament and head of the Amal movement, he announced that if Israel starts a new war against Lebanon, his party will stand by the Hezbollah resistance movement.

Nabih Berri noted: “We are fighting on Lebanese soil. We are fully prepared and will join Hezbollah forces in the event of an Israeli ground attack.”

Yoav Gallant, Israel’s Defense Minister, has traveled to the United States to obtain US approval for a new military operation against Lebanon. Israeli Channel 12 reported that the Netanyahu government has asked the United States to speed up the transfer of weapons to Israel to start operations in the north. The timing of the start of the attack on Lebanon remains unclear, but American weapons will be crucial in starting the operation.

Also, yesterday, an American plane carrying new military equipment landed in Israel.

Dangerous conclusions are forming in Israel. Israeli military and intelligence officials have concluded that the ground war in Rafah and the Gaza Strip will end within the next two weeks, and then the IDF will enter the third phase of the operation.

At this stage, the destructive airstrikes against the Gaza Strip will increase sharply and the main infrastructures in the Gaza Strip will be targeted. And more importantly, the Israeli regime, with the help of America will enter into an all-out war with Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

According to the latest statistics, at least 480 Lebanese people were killed as a result of the Israeli attacks against southern Lebanon.

So far, Israel has started two wars against Lebanon in 2000 and 2006, in both of which it has faced strong resistance from Hezbollah. Israel was defeated in both these wars and has been forced to withdraw from Lebanon.

After 9 months since the Israeli regime invaded the Gaza Strip, the start of another new war by Israel will only complicate the political and military equations in West Asia. The new all-out war between Hezbollah and Lebanon is like an endless vortex, once it begins, there will be no guarantee of the survival of the Israeli state. Maybe this war will become the beginning of the end of the Zionist government in West Asia.

Cancel RIMPAC: Jeju & South Korea peace groups' statement

Jeju navy base gate protest

Cancel the RIMPAC War Exercises!

Translation by Kaia Vereide

On the afternoon of June 7, 2024, Korea’s RIMPAC squadron left the Jeju Naval Base and headed to Hawaii to participate in the 2024 Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) war exercises. Led by the U.S., RIMPAC is the world's largest multinational maritime war drill, involving 40 surface ships, 3 submarines, 150 aircraft, and 25,000 troops from 29 countries. Nine NATO members will participate, and of course Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand will join; these countries are building an Asian NATO system by strengthening U.S.-led alliances such as the Korea-U.S.-Japan alliance and AUKUS. Furthermore, Israel, which is carrying out anti-humanitarian and anti-life massacres in Palestine, will also participate, so the countries that have decided to participate in the war exercises will be complicit in the international crime of tolerating Israel's slaughter and destruction.

Massacre and destruction do not only occur in Palestine. The U.S. Navy has been granted a legal exemption allowing it to slaughter more than 10 million marine mammals from 2018 to 2025. Who will take responsibility for the death of marine life due to sonar and chemical pollution from warships, for the destruction of endangered animals and plants crushed to death by amphibious tanks landing on the coast, and for the suffering of the animals that have miscarriages due to the sound of missiles and gunfire? Already an estimated 2.45 million pyeong (2,000 acres) of land at the Pohakuloa Training Area was destroyed by fire during RIMPAC in 2018.

We strongly demand the cancellation of RIMPAC, which accelerates the momentum towards war and destroys marine ecosystems and the environment. Pacific islands such as Hawaii, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and Palau continue to suffer from multinational war exercises. And RIMPAC-participating Korea is not free from responsibility. Korea is thoroughly militarized; it is the world's ninth-largest arms exporter and has the world’s fifth-largest current available firepower. Korea’s military emits more carbon dioxide than any other public institutions. The way for Korea, the world's seventh-largest emitter of carbon dioxide, to get rid of its stigma as a climate criminal is to stop producing and exporting weapons as soon as possible. Astonishingly, Hyundai Heavy Industries recently said that half of the ships that will participate in RIMPAC in the 2030s will be made in Korea.

Korean weapons companies, such as Hanwha Systems, are implicit in technical cooperation that facilitates Israel's genocide in Palestine. Hanwha Systems plans to build the Hanwha Space Center to produce satellites in Jeju and is promoting a military communication system construction project. Weapons companies not only profit from close contact with the military, but they also expand the scale and level of wars and war exercises by promoting technology for killing.

Following the opening of RIMPAC on June 26, Freedom Edge, a Korea-U.S.-Japan trilateral land-sea-air, cyber and space multi-domain exercise will be held in late June. A naval exercise will be held in the international waters of the Korean peninsula, involving the U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt, which also took part in a Korea-U.S.-Japan joint exercise to the south of Jeju Island in April. Bruce Bennett, a senior defense analyst at the RAND Corporation, a U.S. conservative right-wing think tank, said the Freedom Edge exercise "suggests that we're linking Japan into the US-South Korea war plans.” Freedom Edge means that Japan's transition to a so-called “normal country” (a country that can go to war) has entered its final phase. We are firmly opposed to both RIMPAC and Freedom Edge as they solidify the U.S. war alliance against North Korea, China and Russia and threaten peace. The war drills violate Article 2 (4) of the U.N. Charter, which prohibits the threat or use of force. South Korea should immediately withdraw from all war alliances and war exercises. In addition, the Jeju Naval Base, an outpost for U.S. hegemony in Northeast Asia, should be closed.

Gathered together in front of the Jeju Naval Base, where the U.S. Aegis destroyer USS Higgins (DDG 76) has been docked since it arrived on June 22, after participating in the Valiant Shield war exercises (held from June 6-17), and from each of our respective locations, we conclude our statement with the following slogans:

  • Cancel RIMPAC, which is complicit in genocide and destruction!
  • Cancel RIMPAC, which increases the risk of war and strengthens the military industry!
  • Stop all war exercises, which destroy ecosystems and aggravate the climate crisis!
  • Diplomacy and dialogue are important. Abolish all war alliances!
  • Close the Jeju Naval Base, which turns the Peace Island into a military outpost!

US-NATO DU contamination still rages in Kosovo

My name is Dzafer Buzoli, environmental activist from Gracanica, Kosovo.

For over 9 years I am trying to report on depleted uranium (DU) issue and how it affected the community in Kosovo, huge cancer rates, leukemia and birth deformation are concerning, almost alarming which I am trying to raise an awareness, after my mother died of breast cancer, 8 members of close family and 14 neighbors passed away after short battle with cancer. In Kosovo we have been living on the place that nearest DU bomb was just 8 km far behind our house.
Unfortunately, Kosovo is NATO-friendly country, NATO is considered as mother and father of the Kosovo nation and the institutions, even they know how bad it is for their inhabitants, but they will never accuse NATO for bombing Kosovo with DU... however, following the years of 2021-2023 I was very much involved in decontamination of the DU bombed sites where with my team I have taken out contaminated soil and replaced it with healthy soil and planted grass on top; it was not a huge change but still something to heal my soul and feel like I have at least tried to do something for the place where I was born and raised. Although I got sick after the decontamination process but I feel fine now.

I also bought many inhalators/respirators and delivered them to the communities living near the DU sites who have problems with lungs, in fact every second person in Kosovo have some type of lung problem.
I would like to discuss with you about the possibility to get involved with your organization, I want to dedicate my life and work to prevent any future war which will destroy lives and planet in general.

Also would like to join at conferences and other related events. If there is anything I can do to help with your projects, please let me know. I would be happy to serve and help!
Wishing you a good health,

Dzafer Buzoli

War$ are U.S.

Our newest monthly space video discusses the ever expanding global spending on militarism.

War spending is now at $2.4 trillion. Just imagine what we could do with that money if we could wrest it from the greedy hands of the international war machine and their bankster buddies.
The U.S. leads the spending pack. When you add Washington's NATO (and other allies) war budgets to the U.S. total the numbers reach the sky.

The video also discusses the human impacts of endless war spending and capitalism's lack of interest in the poor and the working class who bear the brunt of declining human needs funding.
Child poverty doubled in 2023 across the U.S.

Video of ATACMS exploding over beach in Sevastopol, Crimea

Newly leaked footage showed the strike of the US-made ATACMS missile on a beach in the city of Sevastopol that took place on June 23. In total, the city was targeted by five American missiles. Four of them were destroyed by Russian air defense forces. The fifth missile deviated from it course and exploded over the crowded beach.

The Ukrainian/NATO military used missiles with cluster warheads which are primarily aimed to inflict maximum damage to enemy manpower. Fortunately, most of the sub-munitions of the exploded ATACMs flew far out to sea and only a few struck the crowded beach. Otherwise there could have been more victims. According to the latest data, 154 civilians were wounded. Four civilians, including two children were killed.

The video confirms the horrific incident. People are seen trying to escape from the beach in a panic, others are trying to cover children with their bodies.

Moscow classified the bloody attack in Sevastopol as an act of terrorism. The Russian military vowed response. Washington was named the main responsible because it supplied the Kiev regime with ATACMS missiles with cluster munitions, provided the Ukrainian military with the reconnaissance data necessary to target the missiles and “all flight tasks in the ATACMS operational and tactical missiles are set by American specialists based on their own data from the US satellite intelligence.”

In response, Ukrainian, American and other Western leaders once again demonstrated their hypocrisy. The official representative of the NATO Foreign Policy service, Peter Stano, claimed that statements about the strike on Sevastopol with NATO long-range weapons are unreliable, and the European Union did not condemn the attack. The EU considers that the statements of the Russian side about Kiev‘s actions have a reliability close to zero and cannot be trustworthy.

Washington lied that this is exclusively the Ukrainian military who is targeting and launching American missiles. Pentagon spokesman tried to deny US involvement in the missile strikes, saying that Ukraine independently chooses targets and launches strikes, conducting independent military operations. The United States only supplies weapons as part of military assistance, so there is nothing to blame them for. The military official forget to explain what are the operations of reconnaissance UAVs of the US Force over the Black Sea for?!

The most disgusting comment on the attack in Sevastopol was given in Kiev. Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Podolyak officially claimed that there should be no peaceful life in Crimea.

There are no beaches, tourist areas and other fictitious signs of peaceful life in Crimea. () Crimea is also a large military camp and warehouse with hundreds of direct military targets.

This is the way the Nazi Ukrainian authorities concerned about the security of civilians in the Crimean peninsula that Kiev considers part of Ukraine and dreams to gain back with war.

Welcome back to the world Julian Assange!

Just remembering why the US-EU went after Assange in the first place.

It's about time he was released.

Obviously Biden figured this might help his re-election chances.

Let it not be so!

Assange on plane leaving UK

What does the world think?

Israel is isolated now more than ever

The US-UK-Canada-Australia-Japan-South Korea and some EU nations are the lone holdouts.

Quite likely the zionists have undue influence in those few nations that still support the apartheid murderous state of Israel.

As things heat up (Israel is currently dropping white phosphorus bombs on civilian areas in Lebanon and itches for war with Hezbollah) the global rejection of the monstrous zionist state is growing.

Israel's economy is in trouble due to this war. The international BDS movement is growing daily and having robust impact on Tel Aviv's economy.

Every day more Israeli's are fleeing their country. Many big investors world-wide are backing away from Israel.

The zionists representing the Israeli government in diplomatic positions around the globe are revealing to the world the arrogant and brutal views of their settler colonial out-of-control government. This reinforces to the global public just how dangerous Israel has become to peace.

Of course the US is no better. Both parties in Washington are on their knees in subservience to AIPAC and Israel's genocide campaign. Biden sends money and weapons but Netanyahu just demands more. It's never enough. Natanyahu and Zelensky are like Siamese twins.

The western-based corporate mafia knows their day in the sunshine is coming to an end. This is why they are ramping up tensions around the world using an ever expanding NATO as their hit men. They appear willing to trigger a world war that very well could go nuclear. Scott Ritter has an article about this very subject here. It's worth reading.

I must say that this is the very worst time I've witnessed during my lifetime. I was crawling under my elementary school desk while living on a B-52 bomber base in South Dakota during the Cuban missile crisis. Numerous times during the Cold War I worried that we might see the end of the world. In particular was around 1983 when the US deployed nuclear Pershing II and cruise missiles throughout Europe aimed at the former Soviet Union.

But fortunately during those trying times cooler heads calmed the situation down. But today in Washington, London, Brussels, Berlin, Paris and Tel Aviv all I see are fanatics and hot heads.

Our only salvation from this insanity will be if the people of the world (and particularly across the west) become even more engaged for true peace.

We can't keep going on like this for much longer.

U.S. crosses redline & Russia is now ready to respond with force

I think we are on the cusp of a major escalation in the war in Ukraine, with U.S. assets likely to be targeted in the coming days. It is one thing for Ukraine to hit military targets inside Russia, but Ukraine’s attack with U.S. supplied missiles [Sunday] on tourists sunbathing on the beaches of Sevastopol breached a Russian-redline that is likely to provoke a significant Russian response, which will include targeting U.S. reconnaissance aircraft operating in the Black Sea and the Baltic Ocean. And that is for starters.

Here is the Russian Ministry of Defense announcement about the attack:

The Ukrainian military launched several US-made ATACMS long-range missiles armed with highly controversial cluster munitions on Russia’s Crimea on Sunday, resulting in numerous civilian casualties, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said.

The strike was first reported by Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev. He said that the attack killed at least three people, including two children. The death toll later rose to four. According to Russia’s Health Ministry, 124 people were injured, including 27 children.

Imagine the reaction in the United States if Russia detonated cluster munitions over Miami Beach, killing and wounding more than one hundred, including children. The American people would demand a strong response. Well, that is exactly what is happening now in Russia:

At the moment when ATACMS were launched at Sevastopol a US RQ-4 Global Hawk long-range surveillance drone was detected over the Black Sea, according to military correspondent Aleksey Borzenko.

“This drone was practically used to direct the missiles that were going to Crimea,” Borzenko told Sputnik. “I believe that it is necessary to create a large unmanned zone in the Black Sea – between 100 and 300 miles – in the aftermath of the tragedy. These Global Hawks should not be allowed to get to the distance from which they could direct ATACMS missiles.”

Borzenko is not an isolated, fringe voice calling for a major response. Civilian and military officials en masse are demanding retaliation. The West has ignored the dire warnings issued by Putin and Lavrov over the last two weeks.

The video blogger, Monkey Werx, posted a piece on Thursday (the 20th) that reported there was no U.S. drone activity in the Black Sea for the preceding three days. We will have to wait till Monday to get his update of U.S. and NATO activity in the Black Sea during this weekend. We are likely to see confirmation of the Russian claim that a drone, perhaps the Global Hawk, was scooping up intelligence, which was then passed to the Ukrainians who, in turn, used that information to program the ATACMS that hit Sevastopol.

Using cluster munitions on beach goers decked out in skimpy bathing suits is an act of state-sponsored terrorism. There is no justifiable military reason for targeting this area. While this is far from the first time that Ukrainians have rocketed civilians and killed children in Russian territory, who were busy playing minutes before being shredded by a Western supplied weapon, this attack comes on the heels of specific, direct warnings by the Russian Government that any future strikes in Russia with Western supplied missiles would be met with a swift and forceful response. Monkey Werx makes a point during his video — one I have made repeatedly — that the amount of U.S. aerial surveillance, B-52 flights and other combat aircraft flying just outside Russian air space is a total provocation and would elicit a strong response from the United States if Russia was doing that to us.

I believe that Russia will now kick the war into a higher gear and Ukraine, along with its Western allies, will experience a new level of devastation. I don’t know if this was a deliberate effort by the Biden Administration to provoke a Russian military response, foolishly believing that a Russian response to the Sevastopol attack will rally the American public around the fading fortunes of Joe Biden. If so, it is a stupid, counterproductive bet.

We've got to call the warmongers out in public!

Washington State Congressman Rick Larsen hid in a restaurant kitchen when confronted by Bellingham residents who told him no votes for genocide.

We need more of this all over the U.S. - Rep. Larsen is a Democrat and that is the party pushing war on Palestine and in Ukraine.

Put the heat on these flakes now before it turns into global war which is damn near here now!

And don't vote in November for any of these warmongers!

War crime report: Famine takes hold in Gaza

UN agencies are warning that over one million Palestinians in Gaza could face severe starvation by mid-July.

The hunger crisis is intensifying as Israel continues to block humanitarian aid from entering the region.

This blockade has left parents desperately struggling to keep their children alive.

Al Jazeera’s Julide Ayger reports.

First harvest at my garden

I love gardening. It helps me keep a bit of sanity during these crushing times.

I'm moderately good in the garden - but steady on the job so now and then I get some nice vegs.

This week I harvested my first radishes - I love to eat them like an apple or some other fruit.

I usually ride my bike to the community garden which is one mile from our home. I've had a plot there for the last three years.

I've got most everything planted now and plants are popping up nicely. Since Maine is so far north our growing season is limited to 4-5 months - depending on the skill of the gardener.

(Although with the temperature this week in the mid-90's one wonders what the near future will mean for food growing globally. Expect even more refugees as they escape drought, hunger and the war$ of choice by the corrupt and brain-dead western oligarchs.)

I also have some pots outside our apartment door which allows me to plant a few things for salads and such.

I'll post some more photos once things are showing well at my garden plot.

Hezbollah ready to defeat Israel

Moon of Alabama

On October 8, a day after Hamas attacked Israel, the Lebanese Hezbollah joined the fray. It sent missiles towards military installations in north Israel. 80,000 Israeli settler living in the north fled from their homes. They are still sitting in hotels around Israel and are waiting for the return of quietness to that front.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah had announced that the current northern tit-for-tat campaign between Hezbollah and Israeli forces would continue until a permanent ceasefire is agreed upon in Gaza.

But the radicals in charge of Israeli policies do not want a ceasefire in Gaza. They want to eradicate Hamas and as much of the Gazan population as possible. A ceasefire would prevent them from doing so.

On the other hand there is pressure from northern settlers who want to return to their homes. But without a ceasefire in Gaza the low level conflict in Israel's north and southern Lebanon is bound to continue.

Instead of working towards a ceasefire in Gaza the Israeli military and government are planning to invade southern Lebanon and to occupy it up to the Litani river.

The plan is delusional. Hezbollah is grounded in the Shia communities which inhabit south Lebanon. Is Israel expecting that population to move out? That is not going to happen.

Hezbollah, with its number of forces exceeding 100,000 men, is well prepared for a fight. South Lebanon is criss-crossed with well prepared fighting positions and tunnels. More than 150,000 missiles, many of them long range, are ready to be launched against military and economic targets in Israel. The 2006 invasion of south Lebanon ended in an utter defeat for the Israeli army. There is no reason to believe that a renewed fight would have a different outcome.

In case of a new conflict Hezbollah has plans to cross the border and to occupy parts of northern Israel. It is also ready to expand a war should this be necessary:

The leader of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, warned of a war “without rules or ceilings” in the event of a full-scale Israeli offensive against the Lebanese militia, as he threatened that Cyprus could become a target if it allowed Israel to use its territory in any conflict.

Cyprus and Israel have a bilateral defence cooperation agreement which has seen the countries conduct joint exercises.

“Opening Cypriot airports and bases to the Israeli enemy to target Lebanon would mean that the Cypriot government is part of the war, and the resistance will deal with it as part of the war,” the Hezbollah chief said.

Nikos Christodoulides, the island’s president, responded on Wednesday evening: “Cyprus remains uninvolved in any military conflicts and positions itself as part of the solution rather the problem.”

Starting a war with Hezbollah may well spell the end of Israel as a settler state. Missile attacks on its infrastructure and military will lessen the confidence the settlers still may have in the Zionist state. Many are likely to return to their home countries if a conflict endures.

Despite such danger to its Zionist project the U.S. administration is backing any and all Israeli plans:

The US has indicated it is open to backing an Israeli offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon, amid mounting frustration that the group continues to link a truce with Israel to an elusive broader ceasefire in Gaza. [Pentagon has sent a U.S. aircraft carrier battle group to the Mediterranean Sea. There are credible rumors that the Pentagon has placed several thousand troops in Lebanon.]

In his meetings in Beirut on Tuesday, US envoy Amos Hochstein delivered "blunt" warnings to Lebanese officials that Israel is preparing to launch a limited offensive on Hezbollah and will have the US's support if a diplomatic solution isn't found, a senior Arab official told Middle East Eye.

Hochstein met with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri on Tuesday, both of whom the US has used as intermediaries with Hezbollah, the Iran-backed group the US designates a terrorist organisation.

Hochstein told Lebanese officials that Israel anticipates roughly five more weeks of intense fighting in Gaza, after which it will pause its main offensive across the enclave. However, it will continue to target senior Hamas officials and conduct attacks to recover hostages.

From the perspective of the current Israeli government a continuation of the war on Gaza requires an additional war in Lebanon:

Hochstein warned that once fighting in Gaza pauses, Israeli officials intend to turn their full focus to the northern border with the aim of pushing Hezbollah back from the area so the roughly 60,000-96,000 displaced Israelis can return to their homes before the start of school in the fall.

Israel and Hezbollah have exchanged near-daily fire since 8 October, but the conflict ratcheted up last week after Israel killed Taleb Sami Abdullah, one of the most senior members of Hezbollah. The group responded by launching hundreds of drones and rockets at Israel.

The Israeli military said on Tuesday night that it had approved plans for an offensive in Lebanon. Earlier in the day, Israel launched strikes on Hezbollah drone launch squads, the Israeli military said.

In a speech on Thursday, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah doubled down on military action saying Hezbollah has "a complete bank of targets", against Israel that include in the Mediterranean.

"The enemy should expect us on land, sea and air, and we will fight without restraints, rules or limits," he said.

Hezbollah published a nine minutes long drone video which showed military and economic targets around the Israeli harbor city of Haifa. That multiple Hezbollah drones could fly over Israel without being bothered by air defenses is a huge loss of face for the Israeli military.

The members of the resistance axis, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Shia groups in Syria, Iraqi militia and the Houthi in Yemen, are ready to fight. Even without attacking Iran, the main power behind the resistance, Israel and the U.S. are likely to lose such a war.

Without a chance to win they would of course, as usual, escalate the war most likely towards Iran, potentially Turkey, and elsewhere. Where it would go from there is unpredictable.

Why they would even launch such an avoidable war is beyond me.
