The U.S. military has begun packing THAAD and Patriot air and missile defense systems in preparation for their transfer from South Korea to bases in the Middle East, to 'strengthen protection' against Iranian ballistic threats, after losing AN/TPY-2 radar systems in the UAE and Jordan.
These systems were originally deployed in Seongju, South Korea aimed at China and North Korea around nine years ago.
This indicates that the US is running out of these so-called 'missile defense' systems that have proven not to be very effective against missiles and drones fired by Iran.
This is a serious example how badly the Pentagon is over-stretched with its more than 800 military bases around the globe. Thus they have to scavenge in order to fight this ill-fated war against Iran. A sure sign of imperial collapse being well underway.
The area these systems are being taken from in South Korea was a former golf course converted to a US base.
Seongju is a village where many who live there grow melons for a living. Residents closest to the base have actively resisted during the times the base was being built and when the trucks hauling the missiles and radars were delivered.
People blocked the roadway, were violently dragged away by hordes of South Korean police, and many were arrested.
