Malaysia delivered a powerful message at the BRICS summit, calling for greater economic independence, stronger cooperation among developing nations and a more multipolar global order.
In the speech, Malaysia discussed BRICS, global debt, unfair trade practices, AI and semiconductor technology, green transition, local-currency settlements and economic diversification away from traditional Western markets.
The speech also addressed the conflict in the Middle East, with Malaysia condemning what it describes as Israeli aggression and calling for sovereignty, civilian protection and the protection of global trade routes and energy security.
