Women Nike workers demand fair pay

“Come on Nike, put me in your commercial…but pay us first!”

We admire powerful women athletes like Serena Williams and Megan Rapinoe, but it’s time for Nike to acknowledge the strong women workers who make Nike products.

Watch and listen to union members Pooja from Stand Up Movement, Sri Lanka, Nde and Dedhe, from SPN, Indonesia, and Sakinah from Garteks, Indonesia. These are just four of the thousands of women workers across South and Southeast Asia who have decided to organize and fight for equality and living wages in Nike’s supply chain, joining with Global Labor Justice and Asia Floor Wage Alliance in the Fight the Heist Campaign.

Those women come from 25 garment worker unions from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Bangladesh, coordinated by Asia Floor Wage Alliance and Global Labor Justice.

Today, the campaign is sending a photo petition from over 1,000 workers to Nike to demand wage increases and human rights protections in its supply chain.
