Flashback interview with Regis Tremblay

I stumbled upon this interview from about 12 years ago with my friend Regis Tremblay. He was originally from Waterville, Maine and went away to study and became a Catholic priest for many years.

At the time I met him I had a monthly public access TV show in Maine called 'This Issue' that aired on 17 stations across the state. It began in 2003 and was shut down suddenly due to covid.

In this interview we talk about his very interesting life, the then Occupy Movement, and his reflections on globalization and declining democracy. It still holds up well all these years later.

Regis was recently interviewed by Deborah Armstrong and you can see her story about his life here

Today Regis lives in Crimea, Russia (since 2020) where he continues doing good work. He interviews me now and then on his own show that he calls Dateline: News & Conversations

Regis has never betrayed his working class roots and to this day works hard to interpret the madness of his home country for those willing to consider his observations. The fact that he lives in Russia gives me an additional lens to see America today.

He also interviews lots of interesting people from around the world. Take a listen and see for yourself.
