Statement of the Hungarian Community for Peace
The Ukrainian leadership has called on NATO to help it reconquer Crimea from Russia.
As Hungary is a member of NATO, it means that it wants to involve Hungary in a war against Russia. Neither NATO nor the Hungarian government refused the call of Kiev, although it did not say it would comply with it.
The Hungarian Peace Community demands from the government of Viktor Orbán to firmly and publicly reject the Kiev call! Let it know that our country not only does not want to go to war with Russia, but also does not give its territory to the preparations for war and the march against Russia!
We protest against the government’s complicit silence in circumstances where NATO has commanded 40,000 troops to the Russian border from the Baltics to the Black Sea and American warships are sailing towards Crimea.
The Hungarian government must say no to the war plan! You must reject Kiev's adventure policy! Hungary has an interest in a peaceful settlement.
Let us mediate for a peaceful solution, rather than serving interests beyond the ocean! Kiev can deceive us the least with the slogan of defending democracy! We have a clear picture of the nature of Ukrainian “democracy”: warfare against their own people in Eastern Ukraine, law enforcement against Russians, Hungarians, Ruthenians, and others!
We must behave neutrally in our well-conceived interests!
