PRIESTS BLOCK CEMENT TRUCK
This morning in Jeju.... 8 Catholic priests blocked the road entering naval base construction site for more than 3 hours. Some of them even sat under the huge concrete mixer truck.
Father Andrew Park Dong-ho said during a Mass, announcing the nationwide church movement, that opposition to the project has now become “the decision of the Catholic Church” in Korea. Fr Daniel Kim Chang-hoon, vicar general of Jeju, who presided over the Mass, said “the Church has a duty to protect life and peace,” further noting “the protest against the naval base is also one of the Church’s duties.”
I sure wish we could get Catholics engaged like this in the U.S.
