Germany's suicidal economic collapse

Weak Germany means weak Europe.

Germany's silence after the Biden-Harris administration blew up the Nordstream pipeline ensured that Russia's cheap natural gas, which fueled the German economy, would no longer be available.

So instead Germany chose to rely on US's LNG (fracked) gas shipped overseas at 3-4 times the price they had been paying for Russian gas.

Thus the German manufacturing sector is collapsing due to the rising fuel costs. Many German companies are now moving overseas. That means loss of good jobs and a once prosperous tax base.

Just this past week Germany chose to pin the blame on Ukraine for taking out the Nordstream pipeline which is a total joke. No one believes it.

Veteran award-winnning journalist Seymour Hersh's reporting on the pipeline destruction accurately pinned the blame right where it belonged - on the Biden-Harris White House.

The EU's (and Germany's) desperate subservience to Washington's corrupt imperial policies is coming home to roost like a run-a-way freight train.

Auf Wiedersehen Deutschland!       Goed door Brussel!

You have no one to blame but your own corrupt leaders in Berlin and Brussels.

U.S. senator busted!

Wongel Zelalem reports about Sen. Todd Young (Republican Indiana) slipping up and telling the real truth about the U.S. intentions to continue to 'exploit' the Africa continent.

This is the real “democracy” America is talking about when they invade other countries.

U.S. is a corporate controlled colonizer of the Global South.

Let there be no doubt at all about that!

Any nation that dares to trust the U.S. is a damn fool.

Zionist organization of America

Sabby takes on the 'not allowed' subject of Israeli control of the US government, media and much of American culture.

She interviews one of the leading researchers of these critical subjects.

Whitney Webb is an encyclopedia of facts about zionists domination of US politics.

It's time we quit avoiding this 'uncomfortable' subject. You can't have a so-called 'democracy' when most of your government is dominated by a foreign nation.

The November national election will be another triumph for the zionists who will control which ever candidate wins the presidential election. And the zionists will control the Congress.

That is, if we live that long as Israel is working overtime to create a privatized war machine to run WW3 to ensure Netanyahu remains in power.

Any way you cut it the Palestinian people will continue to die at the hands of US-Israel.

Blinken bloviates & betrays voices for end to genocide

Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst Marwan Bishara highlights that the United States’s bridging proposal has ultimately revealed a betrayal of their role as mediators. He emphasizes that while the US has never been entirely honest brokers, they had to maintain some semblance of objectivity to keep the process credible and advance their agenda.

Bishara suggests that Hamas is once again being cornered, largely due to US actions, as Israel consistently opposed a permanent ceasefire. Despite Hamas making concessions and accepting American demands, Israel continued to impose new conditions, rendering the idea of a ceasefire meaningless.

Bishara argues that the current situation is more of a pause, where Israel secures the release of captives and then resumes the war at its convenience.

Massive PFAS spill in Brunswick, Maine

A fire suppression system at Brunswick Landing malfunctioned yesterday spilling 1,600 gallons of PFAS-laced fire suppression foam. An unfortunate [fire fighter] had to wade through foam 5 feet deep to turn the system off. The spill will affect well water, the Androscoggin River, and runoff into Harpswell Cove.

Some have said Brunswick will now become the 21st century "Love Canal" as even trace amounts of PFAS are a health risk and long-term exposure has been shown to cause cancer. PFAS are even more dangerous for babies and young children as being exposed causes endrocrine disruptions than can affect their health and development for life.

This is the danger those of us who oppose bluShift Aerospace operating rocket tests and launches at Brunswick Landing have been warning local residents about. While bluShift claims its fuel is non-toxic, it ignores the toxic fire suppression system that is obligatory as rockets often explode.

Will [the Town of Brunswick] respond to the threat to the health and safety of its [residents] and workers?

Dems losing Palestinian voters across U.S.

The Chicagoland area is home to the biggest Palestinian diaspora in the U.S. The presence of over 85,000 Palestinians has caused the village of Bridgeview to be dubbed “Little Palestine.”

Chicago is also the host of the 2024 Democratic National Convention. To many in the community it means organizing together to march on the DNC and demand that Kamala Harris stop sending weapons to Israel and do more to end the genocide in Gaza.

Tens of thousands are expected to march during the convention, echoing the protest against the Vietnam War during the 1968 DNC in Chicago. Police injured and arrested hundreds of protesters, all while the crowd chanted, “the whole world is watching.”

Organizer Hatem Abudayyeh says the entire world is watching now too - “They’re going to see the biggest protest for Palestinian rights ever in the history of Chicago.”

Sanctions report: Colombia bans coal exports to Israel

RT

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has signed a decree prohibiting coal exports to Israel, citing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza caused by Israel’s ongoing military response to the cross-border attack by Hamas last October.

The South American nation is Israel's largest fossil fuel supplier, with trade amounting to $450 million in 2023. The Colombian Miners Association had warned against the move, which was first announced in June, pointing to the trade agreement between Bogota and West Jerusalem, as well as opposition from coal producers.

The document published on the presidential website on Sunday states that the decision was made based on “the seriousness of the humanitarian situation that has arisen in Palestine following the military operation carried out by Israel after 7 October 2023.”

It referenced a recent report by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, which determined that “32,333 Palestinians had died, of whom 9,000 were women and 13,000 were children; that 1.1 million people were experiencing food insecurity; and that 1.7 million people had been displaced from their territories,” since the beginning of the hostilities.

The decree takes effect five days after publication and will stay in place “until the orders of provisional measures issued by the International Court of Justice in the Process of the application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in the Gaza Strip (South Africa v. Israel) are fully complied with.”

Petro shared the decree on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, explaining that the measure was taken because “Colombian coal is used to make bombs to kill Palestinian children.”

Colombia had been one of Israel’s closest partners in Latin America. However, relations between the two nations have deteriorated sharply since the beginning of Israel’s military operation in Gaza.

The rift began after the Colombian president described the operation in Gaza as “genocide” and compared the Israeli military to Nazis, which West Jerusalem slammed as “hostile and antisemitic statements.” This was followed by Israel suspending all security exports to Colombia, which subsequently broke off diplomatic relations.

What do we do as we face the zombie collapse?

Ukrainian troops looting a grocery store in the Russian town of Sudzha

The US-NATO organized, armed and directed Ukrainian military attack on Russia's Kursk Region on August 6 is turning out to be a huge mistake and defeat for Kiev. About 20,000 of Ukraines best troops were sent into the lightly guarded border region between Ukraine and Russia.

So far more than 12,200 Ukrainians (along with French, Polish, German, US and other mercenaries) have died as they pushed about 10 kilometers beyond the Russian border with Ukraine. Many of their troops are surrendering. In addition Ukraine has lost over 650 NATO supplied tanks/armored vehicles/heavy weapons. It's been admitted by Kiev that the goal was to reach the Russian Kursk nuclear power plant where they aimed to take control of it and use it as a bargaining chip. Fortunately they didn't make it that far.

Earlier this week, a video emerged showing Kiev’s troops wearing Nazi-style helmets, harassing a 74 year old Russian villager in Kursk Region. They insulted the civilians in German and in Russian, imitating a German accent. Relatives of the man being taunted in the video say they have not been able to contact him since the clip made the headlines. The Russian General Prosecutor’s Office has launched two criminal cases following the incident – one over rehabilitation of Nazism and the other for murder.

Screenshot from video of Ukrainian soldiers harassing an old Russian villager in Kursk Region. Note the Nazi SS symbol on the German style helmet of the Ukrainian soldier.

Many western media (including CNN, Washington Post) sent reporters into the Kursk region, obviously without authorization by Russia, to cover the invasion. Italian state broadcaster RAI News correspondent Ilario Piagnerelli interviewed a Ukrainian soldier wearing Nazi symbols helping to normalize the Third Reich across the west. The fact that media knew about the incursion belies statements by US-NATO that they did not know Ukraine was planning this attack.

More than 120,000 people have been evacuated from the sparsely populated region. About 25 residential areas in Kursk Region remain under Ukrainian control.

For quite some time Ukraine has also been shelling the Russian Belgorod region and has made several similar forays into the territory but always with bad results for their troops.

Obviously most of the US-NATO proxy war on Russia has been fought in the Donbass region (red subset area in the map) since the Washington directed coup d'etat in Ukraine in 2014. Well over 15,000 Russian-ethnic Ukrainians were killed and some 35,000 wounded up to 2022 when Moscow finally directly intervened in order to push the US-NATO operation away from the Russian border.

Without the western money (paying Ukraine's Social Security system and their troops salaries) this war would never lasted this long. In fact it would not have happened without the constant supplies of US-NATO weapons (tanks, missiles, cluster bombs, artillery, Patriot systems and more). And now NATO is sending F-16s into Ukraine that are capable of firing American nuclear bombs currently based throughout Europe.

What is the US-NATO goal?

Official spokespeople for US-NATO have long claimed they are only helping Ukraine repel the attacks from Russia. But that has always been a lie as the 2014 coup in Kiev was directly followed by Ukraine's Nazi-led rampages against their own citizens in eastern Ukraine whose only crime was that they spoke Russian. It was always the intention of the west to drag Russia into a war in the Donbass and use that war to declare that Vladimir Putin was a devil and that global sanctions had to be stuck on Russia in order to destroy their economy and eventually lead to the break-up of Russia into smaller nations. This would be similar to the Bill Clinton led US-NATO war and breakup of Yugoslavia in 1999.

A key reason for the desire to bust Russia up is climate change and the melting of the Arctic ice. As a result the western resource extraction corporations are drooling over the thought of controlling Russia's vast resource base.

It's not a new story. For the last 600 years Europe has tried to break Russia into pieces. Just about every 100 years European nations have taken turns invading Russia. Sweden (several times), France, Germany and now US-NATO are making a go of it. By the end of WW2 the citizens of the former Soviet Union lost 30 million lives at the hands of Hitler's forces. So the Russians are not strangers to this madness and will never submit to these bloody attacks by the western colonizers. (This ugly history is a key reason that nations in Africa, Latin America, Middle East and Asia refuse to play along with the US-EU sanctions on Russia. They've long experienced the bloody boot print of the colonizers on their necks.)

The UN logo on this map does not mean it was created by the UN

Will there be nuclear war?

I believe it is accurate to say that we are currently in WW3. All around us the US-NATO-Israel are doing their level best to expand current conflicts as widely as possible. Their goal is not only to take down and break-up Russia, but they also wish to do the same to China, Iran, Palestine, Venezuela and more.

This, if it continues as we presently witness things, would for sure turn into a red hot nuclear flash and we'd all be done.

Our only hope is the quick economic collapse of the US-EU-Israel and their henchmen in Asia - Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.

I have no simple 'magic bullet' ideas how to change all of this. A full page advert in the New York Times (people have been suggesting that to me for many years as the way to make big change) ain't a solution. No corporate controlled media or Congress will do the job for us.

It's going to take the public to come around and see the writing on the wall and move into action.

A friend and I were just talking about this need to activate the 'people'. Can it be done? How do we do it? Do we have time? What happens if we fail?

All I can do is keep doing what I do and try to do more if possible. Add that up by millions and things could well begin to move quickly.

Sadly those that think Kamala Harris and the Dems will save us are living in a dream world. I am not counting on them turning-round any time soon. Their minds are locked in some kind of time warp and they don't appear to be able to escape their 1984 zombie state.

I'll just keep sharing what I learn and hope that some people, some where, will pay attention and act.

I will keep trying my best to do my part.

American Christians - Why the silence?

In 1967, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. came to The Riverside Church to deliver his speech, “Beyond Vietnam – A Time to Break Silence,” where he called on America to admit it’s wrongdoings to the people of Vietnam, atone, and take initiative in working towards peace.

Today, 57 years later, Americans find ourselves needing to break the silence yet again and admit our complicity in the genocide of Palestinians, atone, and work towards peace.

Rev. Dr. Munther Isaac, a prominent Palestinian Christian leader from Bethlehem, recently gained widespread attention for his Christmas sermon, 'Christ in the Rubble.'

In this talk, he addresses the consequences of silence from American churches and the role of Christian Zionism in supporting the ongoing apartheid and genocide in the West Bank and Gaza.

The event was followed by a Q&A session.

History Lesson....Al-Nakba: The Palestinian catastrophe

"The Nakba did not begin in 1948. Its origins lie over two centuries ago…."

So begins this four-part series on the 'nakba', meaning the 'catastrophe', about the history of the Palestinian exodus that led to the first Arab-Israeli war in 1948, and the establishment of the state of Israel.

This sweeping history starts back in 1799 with Napoleon's attempted advance into Palestine to check British expansion and his appeal to the Jews of the world to reclaim their land in league with France.

The narrative moves through the 19th century and into the 20th century with the British Mandate in Palestine and comes right up to date in the 21st century and the ongoing 'nakba' on the ground.

Arab, Israeli and Western intellectuals, historians and eye-witnesses provide the central narrative which is accompanied by archive material and documents, many only recently released for the first time.

For Palestinians, 1948 marks the 'nakba' or the 'catastrophe', when hundreds of thousands were forced out of their homes.

But for Israelis, the same year marks the creation of their own state.

This series attempts to present an understanding of the events of the past that are still shaping the present.

This story starts in 1799, outside the walls of Acre in Ottoman-controlled Palestine, when an army under Napoleon Bonaparte besieged the city. It was all part of a campaign to defeat the Ottomans and establish a French presence in the region.

In search of allies, Napoleon issued a letter offering Palestine as a homeland to the Jews under French protection. He called on the Jews to ‘rise up’ against what he called their oppressors.

Napoleon’s appeal was widely publicised. But he was ultimately defeated. In Acre today, the only memory of him is a statue atop a hill overlooking the city.

Yet Napoleon's project for a Jewish homeland in the region under a colonial protectorate did not die, 40  years later, the plan was revived but by the British.

Gaza Ceasefire Talks: Iran says won’t hit Israel with deal

Hamas chief ceasefire negotiator Ismail Haniyeh killed by Israel while he was in Iran at former presidents funeral. It's not wise to kill your opponents negotiator. It's a sign that your nation is not serious about a real fair deal. But we already know that the zionists are packed with lies.

By Aseel Saleh (Peoples Dispatch)

Israeli media outlets published leaked statements by Israel’s Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant about the stalemate of captives-for-prisoners swap talks during a private briefing for a parliamentary committee on Monday.

In them, Gallant blamed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for obstructing the talks saying: “The reason a hostage deal is stalling is in part because of Israel.”
Gallant also described Netanyahu’s promises of “absolute victory” in the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip and his idea of destroying the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) as “gibberish.”

Netanyahu responded by accusing Gallant of adopting an “anti-Israel narrative” in a statement on Monday. “Israel has only one choice: to achieve a complete victory,” the statement from his office added.

Recent recriminations between the top Israeli officials, who have led a genocidal aggression on the Gaza strip for more than 10 months, are not the first sign of the tension within the Israeli government.

Last month, Netanyahu and other Israeli ministers accused Gallant of playing politics by refusing to support a draft law to enlist ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) Jews without earning broad consensus.

The comments regarding Gaza’s ceasefire and captives deal surfaced as the international community has been pushing forward negotiations to avoid the outbreak of a regional war.

[Meanwhile, Iran said it would not retaliate against Israel for its assassination of Hama’s political leader on Iranian soil only if a permanent ceasefire is reached in Gaza.]

But The Guardian reported Wednesday that:

“Hamas said on Wednesday it would not take part in a new round of Gaza ceasefire talks slated for Thursday in Qatar, dimming hopes for a negotiated truce that Iranian sources say could hold back an Iranian attack on Israel.

The US has said it expects indirect talks to go ahead as planned in Qatar’s capital Doha on Thursday, and that a ceasefire agreement was still possible, Reuters reported. However, Axios reported that US secretary of state Antony Blinken has postponed a trip to the Middle East that had been expected to begin on Tuesday.”]

Hamas, in a statement on Sunday, had called on mediators to present a plan “based on [U.S. President Joe] Biden’s May 31 ceasefire proposal, the framework laid out by mediators [in] Qatar and Egypt on May 6, and U.N. Security Council Resolution 2735.”

The United Kingdom, France and Germany issued a joint statement on Monday endorsing the joint statement issued by the United States, Qatar and Egypt on Aug. 8 on Gaza’s ceasefire and captives’ deal negotiations:

“We, the leaders of France, Germany and the United Kingdom, welcome the tireless work of our partners in Qatar, Egypt and the United States towards an agreement on a ceasefire and the release of hostages. We endorse the joint statement of HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, President Sisi and President Biden calling for the immediate resumption of negotiations. We agree that there can be no further delay.”

“We are deeply concerned by the heightened tensions in the region, and united in our commitment to de-escalation and regional stability. In this context, and in particular, we call on Iran and its allies to refrain from attacks that would further escalate regional tensions and jeopardize the opportunity to agree a ceasefire and the release of hostages.”

The statement addressed Iran and its allies without even pointing out the non-stop horrific massacres carried out by Israel in Gaza, Lebanon and the occupied West Bank, or even Israel’s violations of the other countries’ sovereignty by assassinating top leaders in the region within their territories including in Lebanon, Syria and Iran.

On Monday night, Abu Obaida, the spokesperson of Hamas’ armed wing the Al-Qassam Brigades, issued a statement on Telegram, regarding some Israeli captives in Gaza.

“Two guards assigned to guard Israeli hostages killed an Israeli captive and wounded two others in separate incidents. Attempts are underway to save their lives,” the statement said.

Abu Obaida held the Israeli government accountable for the incidents, which he considered as reactions to Israeli massacres being committed against Palestinians in Gaza that “affect the lives of Zionist prisoners.”

Greeks protest porting jet fuel for Israeli warplanes

During the weekend of August 10, maritime shipping databases revealed that two U.S.-flagged tankers carrying military jet fuel for Israel had docked in Greece's largest port in Piraeus.

The Greek government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis allowed these vessels to enter the port despite warnings from international legal experts about potential complicity in Israel's crimes against humanity.

Upon learning of this news, unions and Palestinian solidarity organizations, included BDS Greece, called for an urgent protest at the Greek Ministry of Shipping's headquarters in Piraeus.

Dimitri Lascaris attended the protest. There, he spoke with a representative of BDS Greece, Dimitris Plionis. They discussed the vast disparity between Greek public opinion and the policies of the Mitsotakis government toward Israel and Palestine.

A handful of EU countries have so far banned such Israel bound fuel ships porting rights across Europe.

Over 1,000 women, children captured by Israel in West Bank since 7 Oct

The Cradle

Palestinian prisoner rights groups warned in a joint brief that 10,000 arrests have been made by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem since the start of the war

Israeli forces have made 10,000 arrests across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem since the start of the war on Gaza, according to a brief released by several Palestinian prisoner organizations on 12 August.

“The total number of arrests stands at 10,000 in the West Bank and Jerusalem,” the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS), and Addameer Association for Human Rights said in a joint brief released Monday.

Since 7 October, 345 women and 700 children have been imprisoned in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, according to the brief.

It adds that 94 journalists have been detained, 53 of who are still in custody.

“More than 8,322 orders of administrative detention have been issued since 7 October, ranging between new orders and renewals, including orders against children and women,” the brief goes on to say.

“Detention campaigns carried out since 7 October are accompanied by escalated crimes and violations such as humiliation, brutal beat, threats against detainees and their families, besides to vandalism and destruction in detainees’ houses, confiscating vehicles, gold and money, in addition to the destruction of infrastructure especially in the refugee camps of Tulkarem and Jenin.”

At least 22 Palestinians have died in Israeli custody, according to official numbers, the brief states. This is aside from the dozens of prisoners from the Gaza Strip whose deaths in custody remain unannounced.

The brief adds that the total number of prisoners known to be held in Israeli prisons currently stands at 9,900.

“The data does not include detention cases of Gaza, due to the occupation’s refusal to give any information and the continuation of practicing the crime of enforced disappearance against them. It is worth mentioning that the occupation forces arrested about 4,000 citizens from Gaza, in addition to hundreds of Gazans who have been arrested in the West Bank.”

It also says the data “is variable on a daily basis due to the continuous arrests.”

Israel’s already-brutal prison system took a turn for the worse in 2022 under Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, which saw the extremist MK Itamar Ben Gvir assume control of the Israeli National Security Ministry.

Last week, Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem published a report saying that since 7 October, prisons and detention centers have effectively become torture camps under Ben Gvir’s direction.

The report, titled “Welcome to Hell,” contains the testimonies of 55 Palestinians which collectively point to a “systematic and institutional policy of abuse and torture of Palestinians in Israeli prisons,” according to Haaretz.

The head of Israel’s Shin Bet security service, Ronen Bar, warned in a letter to Netanyahu and Itamar Ben Gvir in late June that 21,000 Palestinians are imprisoned in jails across Israel, referring to the issue as an “incarceration crisis,” according to a Ynet report released on 2 July.

Bar warned that the number of detainees in Israeli jails far exceeds the prison system’s capacity of no more than 14,500.

He slammed Ben Gvir’s prison policy and said the situation represents a “time bomb” for Israel.
