Jeffrey Sachs also attacked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu while discussing the escalating conflict with Iran, describing him as "one of the most dangerous" people in the world and warning about the potential consequences of a prolonged confrontation.
Sachs argued that Iran retains the ability to inflict significant damage on Israel and energy infrastructure across the Gulf.
He also said Iranian officials had sought ways to negotiate with Washington for years, contrasting those efforts with his assessment of the approaches taken by Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump.
