Message from American living in Germany

By Dennis Duvall

I’m deeply disappointed in Germany’s foreign policy toward Gaza and Ukraine. Germany supports Israel because of the Holocaust, even as the UN determines Israel’s massacre of Palestinians to be a genocide. Germany stands with Israel even as Israel’s indiscriminate bombing, ethnic cleansing, collective punishment and blocking humanitarian aid has been condemned worldwide. Germany’s silence is complicity with Israel’s war crimes in Gaza. France, Spain, UK, Ireland and Norway plan to recognize a Palestinian state in September 2025.

Germany ignores Russia’s historical justification for military conflict with Ukraine and condemns Russia’s “unprovoked” war. NATO’s enlargement and expansion to Russia’s borders, the [US orchestrated] 2014 coup in Kiev, Ukraine’s attacks on the Donbas and pushing Ukraine to join NATO were all provocations that Russia saw as threats to its security.

Germany is the 2nd largest arms exporter to Ukraine, committed to supplying 28 Billion Euros in military assistance. Stuttgart is the main logistical hub for coordinating and delivering military weapons and equipment to Ukraine. At least 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been trained in Germany.

War fever is gripping Germany and throughout Europe. In June 2025 NATO declared it “must pivot to full war fighting readiness.” Germany is boosting war spending by 100 Billion Euros preparing for war with Russia, including four Billion Euros for F-35 warplanes to carry new B61-12 hydrogen bombs. In 2026 Germany plans to redeploy nuclear-capable Tomahawk cruise missiles and SM-6 ballistic missiles. The Dark Angel (Dark Eagle) Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon might also be deployed in Germany.

Germany is world’s 4th largest arms dealer and Germany’s foreign policy reflects the economic benefits of the wars in Gaza and Ukraine. It should be clear that Ukraine and Palestine are testing grounds for new weapons systems that only benefit investors in the U.S. Defense Industrial Base and other major weapons makers.

Best Regards,
