Reuters reports that Saudi Arabia and other OPEC+ members have flatly ignored Trump’s plea to lower oil prices. Following a meeting of member countries, ministers announced they would stick to their current production plans, with no changes in sight for April.
The petrodollar empire is crumbling, and OPEC+ just delivered another nail in the coffin. Riyadh, once Washington’s obedient oil spigot, is now charting its own course, aligning with a multipolar energy world where U.S. demands are met with indifference.
This photo from Trump's visit with the Saudis during his first administration. Things appear to be going downhill for Trump now.
The Saudis know the game has changed. With BRICS rising, China paying in yuan, and Russia recalibrating global energy flows, Trump’s demands are little more than echoes of an empire losing its grip.
