Mother Earth - I can feel her tears

Sadness descends
on me
like a fog.
I used to fight it,
now I try to embrace
the feelings
that come from
a heart
full of
love, caring, solidarity
and justice.

The journey
is long
with many jingles
and jangles.

Heartbreak is ever present
as we are surrounded
by fools
and reprobates
who only care
about the dolla
and how many
toys they can accumulate
during their greedy
lifetimes.

I think of my relatives
who walked similar paths
during their time
in this universal unknown.

They trudged on
thru ice ages,
droughts, famine,
plagues, wars
and human failures.

But they got me here
for which I am happy,
and bend my knees
in prayerful gratitude
to all of them.

My love
never wavers
for our Mother Earth
whose body is now racked,
in toxic shock,
due to the tragic
spiritual disconnection
of her children.

It has to be a deep sorrow
for our mother
who only wanted the best for
those she birthed.

I can feel her tears.

I shall keep the
fires burning.
