A CNN investigation into the violent counter-protests at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) has identified several individuals responsible for the aggression.
The investigation revealed that none of those identified were UCLA students and they had no apparent affiliation with UCLA. Some had previously been seen at a 2022 pro-Trump protest.
Kyung Lah, CNN senior investigative correspondent, said CNN contacted the UCLA Police Department multiple times and through various means to inquire about the identified individuals and whether there would be a response or a follow-up investigation.
However, no clear response was received.
