On September 24, Bruce Gagnon and Lisa Savage spoke at the Common Ground Country Fair in Unity on the proposal to build a rocket launch site off the coast of Maine at Steuben.
Gagnon described the global context of proliferating rocket launch sites that are used by the military, and Savage discussed the creation of the Maine Space Corp., and opposition so far to the proposal to build a rocket launch site near world famous Acadia National Park.
The CEO of bluShift interrupted her and said the presentation was "lies"" but revealed that he has accepted funding from NASA and expects to receive Space Force funding as well in order to launch military satellites.
Other plans are emerging to test hypersonic rockets from a former air force base in northern Maine.
All of this is linked to the US plan to 'control and dominate space and deny other nations (particularly Russia and China) access to space' as quoted in the 1997 Space Command document Vision for 2020.
