Right-wing (US backed) government in Japan wishing to get rid of Article 9, the peaceful clause of their Constitution created just after WW2.
Now the US is pushing Japan to dump Article 9 in preparation for war with China around 2030.
Global Network friend Makiko Sato sends this information and wrote:
"Our coalition government is trying to reform the voting system in the Diet [parliament] for the proposition of national referendum for changing Constitution. Nationwide opposition is growing, mainly led by the Communist Party."

Statement
Japan must not repeat its history of war. Peaceful coexistence in East Asia is the only guaranteed path to our desired existence.
Peace begins with sitting at a diplomatic table with others, not with military expansionism.
Therefore, we should pour all our energy into diplomacy and communication, in preparation for not making war but for materialization of the ideal of peace embraced in our Constitution.
We never give our permission to our tax money and our precious time along with our lifelines being wasted on war preparation training.
We demand our government to:
・Cancel the US-Japan joint military drillings of ‘Valiant Shield 2026’ and ‘Resolute Dragon 2026’
・Abandon the deployment of long-range missiles in Japan
・Propose to Japanese people a policy for building peace in East Asia, not through threat of force but by way of diplomacy.
