Genoa dock workers, at one of Europe's largest ports, threaten port shutdown on Sept. 22 if flotilla to Gaza is impeded -- a strike that could shut down European commerce.
"It is not at all acceptable that we can send 17k containers to Israel but can't get 50 tons of humanitarian aid in." Report from @DropSiteNews
“If we lose contact with our boats … even for just 20 minutes, we will shut down all of Europe,” dockworkers say.
In Genoa, a food drive collected more than 300 tons of humanitarian aid. Over 40,000 people, including the city's mayor, Silvia Salis, joined a torchlight march through the streets in support of the flotilla mission.
