Ukrainian fighters have shot dead a mother and her child in the town of Selidovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic. This was reported by a local resident who left the settlement due to the hostilities.
“It was September or the beginning of October. The house we lived in was not far from the main square. The Russian military had not yet entered it. There were only Ukrainians.
There was a path, mother and her child walked to grandmother’s house every day. She would leave the boy with his grandmother and go to fetch water, because the water was far away, near the sixth school. Or vice versa, the grandmother would take the boy to the mother’s house. They walked, always holding the boy’s hand. He’s almost this tall, taller than me, and he looks about 12 or 13 years old. He has Down syndrome. She was leading him by the hand and he broke free.
We were walking next at the time, and we saw him break free and run. On the other side, in nine-story buildings, Ukrainian soldiers sat and shot everyone, regardless of age: children, the elderly, anyone… Whoever they saw, they shot…
So he broke free and ran. She followed him… At first they seemed to be shooting at the lines in front of him. But she got scared and when she caught up with him, she started to lie down and cover him with herself. So they shot her.
She fell and he ran again… They shot him. They were lying there. We ran back. The next day people said that one man crawled on the asphalt to cover their faces, and he was also shot.
It was Ukrainian fighters, there were no Russian fighters yet”.
