Photos from anti-war protest in Belfast, Maine

We had 37 folks join us yesterday for another of our monthly anti-war protests - this time in Belfast, Maine. They came from all over the state.

The response once again was primarily positive along this busy Rt 1 intersection on the edge of town.

One driver, an old man, said to me, "It's good to see someone finally taking a stand'. Because I was positioned on the medium strip in the middle of the road those stopped at the traffic light often rolled their window down to talk with me. Several liked my sign that read, 'No More $$$ for Ukraine: $140 billion so far'.

Young and old alike passing by affirmed our belief that the American people are coming around and are eager to see this Biden administration neo-con war aimed at Russia shut down. Several motorists mentioned that Washington is wasting their taxpayer dollars which are desperately needed here at home.

In the immortal words of Daniel Berrigan, 'Know where you stand and stand there'.

We are planning several months ahead now - particularly as the Maine summer tourist season swells our roadways with visitors from all over the country and around the world.
