MB and I were up at 4:00 am this morning to catch an early flight from Boston to Minneapolis, Minnesota for the United National Antiwar Conference being held this weekend.
The conference is entitled: Decolonization and the Fight Against Imperialism.
Over 300 people from all over the country are expected to attend.
Things began this evening with a panel of local activists reporting on their fierce campaigns in solidarity with the people of Palestine. They've done impressive work to get resolutions passed by city governments of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Other resolution campaigns are happening around the state. Over 100 such city resolutions have been passed across the country.
Students talked about very successful organizing at college campuses, labor union reps are organizing inside local unions, and much more. Recent regular protests have been growing in size with one reaching over 15,000 people.
I will be speaking on a panel on Saturday about my recent space issues speaking tour to South Korea and all that I learned on that remarkable trip.
At least half, and maybe more, of the attendees at this conference are young people which is a terrific sign.
More later.
