You probably heard
about the Democrat congressman
at the nation's capital
in order to delay a big vote.
He claimed he thought
it was the door handle
to get into the House of Representatives.
Right...
Hillary is back on the TV
saying that we must continue funding
the proxy war on Russia
because Putin is evil.
Zelensky is the new Churchill.
She says people who are critical
are Moscow agents.
(I'm still waiting for my check
from Russia. I'll take it in rubles,
rather than $$$$ please.)
Is this a sign
of pure desperation?
Hillary's last stand?
Are the neo-cons running scared?
On the street in Brunswick yesterday,
our weekly 'No war with Russia' vigil.
Got 3 middle fingers,
some disdainful smirks,
lots of looks of utter confusion
and resignation.
After all we live in
the empire of lies,
where truth gets trumped
from media.
It's hard not to feel despair
and even discouragement,
but then 5 good honks
in a row
bring life again to my
sometimes sagging heart.
(The beer delivery trucks
have long been the most supportive.
Throw me a six-pack guys,
I could use the swig!)
Polls show growing opposition
to funding Ukraine,
at least $180 billion so far.
The Dems lead the war
pumping pack in Washington.
Even the 'liberals' who opposed
Iraq and Afghanistan failures
now appear in love with Ukraine's leader,
even traveling to Kiev
to hug the Z-man.
Maybe they were
just trying to feel Z's pockets
looking for the $400 million
he has raked off the top.
They shouldn't worry though,
as the MIC corporate donations
are still coming their way
as long as Congress keeps
the pipeline flowing.
Are the American people,
plain and simple stupid,
or they they just
dazed and confused?
Do they suffer from
intellectual laziness?
Or is their addiction
to corporate media
the fatal flaw?
America is on the
knife's edge,
not much room for maneuvering
without a fatal cut
that releases
the life blood of the nation.
Who really cares?
Who really dares
to think for themselves,
and speak the certain truth
in a time of collapse?
The opposite of courage
in our society
is not cowardice,
it is conformity.
Memories of past
imperial failures
flood my mind.

On the Fire Alarm--What I heard--I don't remember where--is that he was being asked, along with his colleagues--to vote on a bill that was maybe 2000 pages, which was impossible to do before the vote--so he pulled off this trick in order to have more time. Perhaps this is made up, but it seems logical to me. What do you do when you believe in doing your job right, but then comes along an impossible hurdle?
The Dem congressman broke the same law that the Jan 6 'insurrectionists' have been charged with. Let's see if the Dems demand he be held accountable - likely not
