Pentagon Merging With Commercial Satellites

The Pentagon is relying more and more on commercial satellites to expand their goal of dominance in space. Rather than the typical model of buying technology from companies, the Pentagon allows the companies to continue to use their own technology, in this case satellite technology, while sharing the use of these technologies in a "dual-use" strategy. 

This is a "cost-saving" strategy, it allows commercial enterprises to develop technologies at a faster pace than government, and it allows US commercial dominance in space - public and private dominance but led by the US.
