Senate passes 'financial time bomb' bill

Who benefits and who doesn't?

In a 50-50 vote (broken by Vice Prez JD Vance) the US Senate passed Trump's 'big beautiful bill'.

The $3.3 billion bill is a policy train wreck.

Tax cuts for the already super rich. The US debt (now $37 trillion) will grow.

12 million people will be kicked off Medicaid. Food stamps, student loans and much more face major cuts.

The Pentagon and MIC will get more money.

In the end all this means the US will face further economic deterioration. But the rich don't care as they have gone global. They have multiple homes in fancy places, so they don't give a damn about what happens back home.

Trump's subservience to Wall Street is ensuring that his MAGA coalition will continue to break apart.

Next step for the bill is it goes back to the House of Representatives. Negotiations between the House and Senate will continue. (The House approved the final bill last night by 218-214.)

Fascism (defined by WW2 Italian fascist leader Benito Mussolini as the 'wedding of corporations and government') is firmly entrenched in the US.

One consequence will of course be that as the US economy collapses the 800 imperial military bases around the world become unsustainable.

The coming ravages of climate crisis will further demand spending to deal with the severe climate impacts. The rich will say 'let the locals deal with the mess' as they largely did during the most recent hurricane impacts across the south - particularly in North Carolina.

All of this portends massive civil disruption and likely civil war in the US. It's a sad fact but the rich know they don't need so many people anymore as AI stares us in the face.

Superfluous populations will be eliminated. Hunger and lack of health care are a different form of genocide. The rich will prefer to stand back and watch the American people kill one another.

This is a 21st century version of feudalism. You get a credit card and big screen TV.

Yes, we need a 2nd American revolution that throws the fat cat oligarchs out.

That only comes from determined and sustained organizing. Following the Democrat party into blind alley ways won't do the job.

Let the work begin.
