of course this will spark some controversy. The publicly financed wedding of Prince Billy the Kid (People who remember what Queen Bess said about how reporters should refer to her hrandson when he was born will get a chuckle from that) and Kate has to endure "drastic cutbacks" as well. The poor deprived Royals are going to have to use a USED Rolls-Royce.
Oh, My... That's like this stupid joke about what's the difference between a rich Texan and a poor Texan? The poor Texan has to drive his own Cadillac. (No chauffeur for the slower members of the readership)
"Once there was a poor family. The Daddy was very poor. The Mommy was very poor. The little girl and the little boy were very poor. Their Butler was very poor. Their maids were very poor. Their gardener was very poor. Their chauffeur was very poor. They were a Very poor family."
There's a viable, actually working way to defeat "kettling" but it involves not telling the cops what you intend to do beforehand, not obeying their "free speech zone" kettles, and coordinating multiple smaller demonstrations rather than one or two large ones.
It's how the students managed to get all the way up to where they could put their hands on Prince Charles' car. Kettle the Kops.
Of course their gander isn't nearly as savory to them when it's covered in goose sauce. They get downright whiny about it in fact.
"How DARE break that contract we negotiated with them at bayonet point? We very nobly agreed to allow them their silly little demands for actually honoring their free speech, as long as they agreed to be kept in confinement while they were 'freely' speaking and of course we could limit any outsiders from hearing what was said, in case they said something that hurt our feelings badly enough that we were FORCED to go in and beat them down!"
Strong Hint... Limited freedom is not the same thing as Actual Freedom. In England they've had a "Bill of Rights" for about 5 centuries longer than we have. Which has given their police and military a 5 century advantage on learning ways to work around and effectively deny the rights of the People. "Our" military and police aren't slow learners though, in fact they inherited Their system from the British Crown wholesale.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. The "capcha" word challenge for posting this time... "reign".
