This time around
we get
a car
a 'smat' phone
a wide screen TV
lots of meds
and huge
credit card debt

People
on the street
are miserable
angry
ready to blow
guns are
exploding

Dog-eat-dog
culture
is rampant
even inside
families
people
compete
with one another
for food,
love,
and recognition

We've
lost our way
little connection
to nature
to a spiritual
center
capitalism
has turned
us into
zombies

Some still
claim
'America
is the greatest
country
on the Earth'

Some fight
and die
for the corporations
that have turned
us into
slaves

Much of so-called
resistance
is
'Democratic party'
front groups
sheep herding
the depressed
flock
back
into the corral
paid for
with $$$$
from Wall Street
and Soros
the feudal
masters

Where is
the hope?

I'm still looking.....
in the meantime
I'm pushing
the rock
