I like the lead in on that,
"Sheriff: Suspect may have had help"
According to a not very extreme version of what constitutes "aiding and Abetting" he had plenty of help. There's a petition now to indict Sarah Palin for Incitement to Riot. By the way, the Riot Act was a Republican invention.

Yeah. They did everything put buy the kid the gun (as far as we know) and drive him to the Safeway Parking lot.
(Again as far as we know)

The standard response for what would constitute a valid argument for abridging free speech is “shouting fire in a crowded theater”

They bussed in an audience from a mental ward, gave them loaded machine guns, then shouted “Fire!”

Just my customary gallows humor there. For those who tuned in only very recently, this is what the fall of an Empire looks like, up close and personal.
Usually when an Empire falls, the scribes, having been educated fellows, were either smart enough to escape ahead of time or were the natural first targets, so the best eyewitness accounts come from the victors.

When Rome fell, most of the Non-Roman Europeans had no written language, nobody knows what Gothic looks like in print, and they didn't have an internet or people who type 60 words a minute. It would take all day to write a few pages. So all we have are some truly incoherent accounts that involve the Latin words for "aaaaarrgghhh! Make it stop! Please, make it stop!"

One of the victims killed, Gabriel Zimmerman was a graduate of the University of California here in Santa Cruz. Although programs at UCSC are now being cut, the institution attracts many bright & exciting young minds to come through our town. Many stay to become city mayor, county workers and famous authors. Others, like Gabriel move on to make their contributions in other communities. This loss of precious lives is too great. We accompany family & friends in their grief. We offer all forms of prayer.
