Report from International Environmental Forum in Crimea

Resolution: International Environmental Forum

"For our future"

April 25, 2024, Alushta, Republic of Crimea, Russian Federation

During the plenary session, we, the participants of the forum, received evidence of the purposeful infliction of environmental harm and damage by the Kiev regime to the Crimea, the Luhansk People's Republic, the Donetsk People's Republic, the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of the Russian Federation.

Using the example of the Zaporizhia region, we see systemic provocations by the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. These attacks repeatedly led to the de-energization of the NPP, damaged the cooling system, and damaged nuclear fuel storage facilities. In this regard, a real threat has repeatedly arisen that can lead to extremely negative consequences not only for the ecology of Russia, but also for European countries. The Kiev regime is trying to use political and environmental blackmail against both the Russian side and Europe, threatening an environmental disaster, justifying attempts by military action to regain control of an important nuclear facility. At the same time, despite the presence of the IAEA mission observers at the NPP, who have full information, including who is striking at Europe's largest nuclear power plant, they have never named their culprits, thereby encouraging the criminal actions of the Ukrainian side.

We condemn any provocative actions that create prerequisites for an environmental catastrophe on the continent.

We call on all sane forces, all like-minded people in the field of environmental safety to unite and stop the criminal actions of the Ukrainian authorities under the direct patronage of the collective West and the United States for the sake of life on Earth, so that Crimea, Donbass, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions do not become an environmental disaster zone.

Unfortunately, NATO's aggressive policy is also of extreme concern. The artificial creation of hot spots in different parts of the globe confirms the unwillingness of the collective West, led by the United States, to take care of the issue of preserving our planet. Instead of implementing relevant environmental programs, we are witnessing large-scale processes of militarization, which entails military conflicts that may ultimately endanger the existence of human civilization itself.

Realizing the devastating long-term consequences of the use of NATO depleted uranium ammunition, we believe that their use should be strictly prohibited, and those who used it and are using it should be punished as they deserve. Once again, we call on the international community to pay attention to the existing environmental problems mentioned above.

We call on all competent relevant structures to take full responsibility for preserving the ecological balance of the planet.
