The United States Navy has deployed five destroyers outfitted with so-called 'SM-3 missile defense interceptors' off the coast of Israel to help intercept Iranian ballistic missiles.
This is alongside the many systems Israel already uses to defend itself, including David Sling, Arrow-2 and Arrow-3, Iron Beam and Iron Dome, as well as Sa'ar-6 vessels and fighter jets.
In addition US has sent ground-based interceptors THAAD and Patriot to help Israel.
Iran is now effectively up against more than 10 separate layers of Israeli and US missile defenses.
So far Iran appears to be getting around these systems quite frequently.
Israel has already received 14 weapons shipments from US and Germany since start of Iran war. Saudi Arabia is sending military equipment as well. Likely many other western nations doing the same as well.
All of this is punching a huge hole in both US and Israeli military budgets.
Trump says he is thinking about attacking Iran but in fact he's already sending the US military into harms way.
