What comes next in Palestine?

Palestinians in the Gaza strip are using the few days of truce to check on their homes.

They're finding unimaginable destruction which is forcing them to use alternative methods to meet their basic needs.

More Palestinians detained by Israeli forces in West Bank

More than 60 Palestinians were arrested by Israeli forces overnight in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners Club said.

It added in a statement that among the detainees were former prisoners.

More than 3,000 Palestinians have been detained by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank since October 7.

Dr Mohammed Zaqout, general manager of hospitals in Gaza, has shared these updates with Al Jazeera:

  • Hospitals in northern Gaza have not received any fuel during the truce
  • The field hospitals now in Gaza need five to seven days to start operating
  • The Israeli army has destroyed 21 private hospitals and 13 public hospitals across the enclave
  • Ahli Arab Hospital, Kamal Adwan Hospital and al-Awdah Hospital are the last working hospitals in northern and central Gaza.

The Geneva-based organization Euro-Med Monitor called on Sunday for the creation of an independent international investigation committee into organ theft suspicions.

In a statement published on its website, the group said that “Euro-Med Monitor has documented the Israeli army’s confiscation of dozens of dead bodies from Al-Shifa Medical Complex and the Indonesian Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, and others from the vicinity of the so-called ‘safe corridor’ (Salah al-Din Road) designated for displaced people heading to the central and southern parts of the Strip.”

Euro-Med Monitor added that the “Israeli army also dug up and confiscated the bodies from a mass grave that was established more than 10 days ago in one of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex’s courtyards.”

“While dozens of corpses were handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which in turn transported them to the southern Gaza Strip to complete the burial process, the Israeli army is still holding the bodies of dozens of dead people,” the statement read.
