We learn something every day

We are learning something
during this time
we are living in,
who we can count on,
and who is
the phony baloney.

No matter whether
they are so-called political leaders,
some well-financed 'alternative media'
or supposed friends,
when the chips begin
to fall
we find out where we
and others stand.

Who runs for cover,
and who holds truthful ground?

Who turns on us
because of a disagreement
and who comes to talk?

We can share our
differing feelings
and walk away
still respecting
one another.
Or not....

Who lets political party
trump
friendship?

Neo-con globalist agenda
trump
history and reality?

Social status
trump
truth and justice?

Those that tell me
I should keep my trap shut
about US-NATO
proxy war in Ukraine,
are not respecting
my ability to
think for myself.

Ukraine could be the trigger
for nuclear war,
war in space,
an end to all life.
How could I remain silent
and live with myself?

You either treat people
the way you want to be treated
or you don’t.

If you don't
you ain't gonna be
respected
or trusted.

  1. Tovarish! Another "inspired" poem that I liked and agree with. We've both lost countless friends over Covid and the war against Russia. I don't give a flying F. We've both been following this for decades....DECADES and the facts are indisputable. America is the greatest purveyor of violence in the world. MLK originally, but I am echoing this belief over and over and over again today!
And, you are absolutely right: "Ukraine could be the trigger for nuclear war...to end all life on the planet.
It's not about "friendship" anymore. It's about who is your Tovarish...your comrade!
