Former CIA Operations Director John Stockwell in this video mentions the Sen. Frank Church (D-ID) Senate committee hearings in 1975 on the CIA's control of the media.
At the time it was disclosed that 400 journalists worldwide were submitting news stories on behalf of the CIA.
It's likely worse these days - it sure feels like it is.
I drove to the village of Freeport today where six of us held signs, banner, and a flag calling for no war with Russia. We again got an excellent response from the public - many waves and peace signs. Only one mean-spirited person yelled at us.
On the way there I had the radio on and was listening to NPR (National Pentagon Radio) and I heard a news report that Russian troops were raping young girls in Ukraine.
I'd bet my life that 'story' was produced by the agency.
