  1. Strange, too, the dichotomy between statements like, you can't criticize the war unless you fought in it, but you can and must support the war. And Ron Kovic is 70 today. Technically yesterday. It's after midnight in all parts of America save Hawaii and the Aleutians.

    Funny how getting pieces blown off or paralyzed doesn't give anybody the "right" to oppose the war. The confusion between rights and privilege gets unnecessarily blurred. Buried in a deep pile of rhetoric. The way Max Cleland was demonized by Saxby Chambliss III in 2010 shows that. Cleland left half his body mass and 3/4 of his limbs in the military hospital chop shop. Chambliss has as his claim to fame that his family were plantation elite.

    We'll make it through, or we won't. That's the whole of history anyway. "our" country becomes the Empire and not the Rebellion.
