The collapsing US military & economic empire is making Washington & NATO even more dangerous. US could not beat the Taliban but thinks it can take on China-Russia-Iran...a sign of psychopathology for sure. We must all do more to help stop this western corporate arrogance that puts the future generations lives in despair. @BruceKGagnon

Everybody wants to know....

What about this and what about that? The mail bag is full today. Questions & my answers.

  • Is it true that Biden is going to break the Russians away from the Chinese at the summit?

He'd have to make Putin one hell of an offer. Like disband NATO and shut down 800 American military bases. Let's wait and see. Hopefully Biden can at least remember all his talking points.

  • If the Swiss won't allow the Russian media to come to Geneva because they took the Sputnik V vaccine, how can they justify letting Putin and Lavrov come to the summit?

Good question, maybe the Swiss will demand they wear haz-mat suits or maybe the Russians will just decline to come.  Or maybe the demand is just a public relations gambit to take one more 'jab' at the Russians. This story seems to be full of holes - sort of like Swiss cheese.

  • OK, so you are trashing National Endowment for Democracy (NED) again.  I don't buy that the US would interfere in other nations elections and such? Are you just making all this up?

Yeah, I understand the confusion. The name NED sounds so nice and Washington really cares about other people around the world and is such a great friend of 'democracy' here at home. I had an uncle named NED and he was such a sweet man. So you must be right, surely the US would not interfere in other countries internal affairs....

  • I saw the money thing you posted about Russia selling off its dollars. Are the Russians trying to crash our economy? Maybe we should just nuke them now while we can still afford to gas up the missiles?

Russia and China are indeed unloading US $$$$. (There are likely other nations doing the same.) Obviously they are asking themselves, 'Why should we help pay for our own military encirclement?' But I don't think Washington needs any real help to destroy our economy. At $28 trillion in debt this government is doing a pretty good job on its own.

  • I heard on the news that Biden was sending V-P Harris to Latin America to get to the bottom of the refugee crisis? What is going on? Will she be wearing her Converse sneakers?

Our government does not seem to understand that when you do regime change in Honduras; destabilize Nicaragua; force a one-sided trade deal on Mexico; train, fund and arm drug warlords south of the border and more - that the dog comes back to bite you. Considering how 'humble' Harris is, I would expect that she will wear the latest New York fashions - and the sneakers. Oh, and note her disingenuous laugh....

  • It's clear that you are nothing more than a cynical, Marxist functionary who hates America. Why don't you just move to Crimea like your friend Regis?

Thanks for the compliment. Our Maine US Senator Angus King once told me the same thing - move to Russia - when I called him on a radio talk show where he was suggesting the Pentagon take control of the Arctic region. He even went on a Navy sub ride under the ice. Actually I was raised as a super-duper patriotic militarist - so I'm just calling in the 'freedom and democracy' chits. My friend in Crimea appears to love it there.  Who would have thunk it?

From Russia with love!
Bruce, I think Putin would accept the removal of all sanctions on Russia and Crimea, and even NATO retreating back West and not one inch east.

I still have doubts the Russians will attend. What's in it for them?
